Thanks, Lextreme. Just what I thought - low rpm is strong but the party gets kind of quiet after 3500 rpm. What is a cost effective way to fill in the mid-high rpm torque? Custom cams, turbo, revised tuning, others?

On a different track, a lot of early 2UZs had exhaust manifold or exhaust manifold gasket failures - can this be attributed to factory tuning?

The 2uzfe have good low end torque. As you can see, the hp is not too impressive but massive torque at lower end. Great for towling. Exhaust manifold gasket failure is rare. OEM comes with MLS. The cheap SS Autochrome Tundra headers come with fiber gaskets.
