Homemade Water/Air Intercooler

Howdy, after havin a look at some water/air intercoolers cores for sale I'm wondering if it would be possible to use one or two small factory intercoolers, for eg a supra's intercooler.It wont cost anything more then the intercoolers themselves as my friend can tig weld (for free ). Would it be worth the trouble?

From your thread I assume you intend to build a box around the Supra intercooler and run water thru it.

There's no reason it won't work.

Plenty of WRX's have had the same treatment to their top mounts and the results are excellent.

Make sure the core you use will flow enough air. Splitting and re-uniting the airflow (to use two intercoolers) may not work as well as you wish.

Certainly worth a try.
