What do you guys think? A local Craiglist for free NASCAR Tires This guy is local to me. Do you guys think these tires will be useful for drag?

I do... They are slicks but don't last very long...Soft rubber and very very grippy..
Rim size and fit may be the biggest issue.... I've been to Nascar races and know people that work with Nascar teams..... It's almost a cult... Some Americans are so into Nascar it's almost funny...

I don't think you want to run these tires on the streets. They wear out soooo fast and can get punctured fairly easily... Plus they are like 13" or 14' on the rim width.. They wouldn't fit on your rims or in your Lexus wheel wells I don't think... No telling what size height rims they fit onto as well..
Nice thought though Lex, if you want to pick some up for a collectors item or something just say when. I can get them used any time but we would have to drive to Long Beach to get them.....

Pasadena is a smog pit and I hardly go over their any more... Alot of old money and big homes in Pasadena though..... The good ole rose bowl and rose parades with the floats every year too... Been their once to see the floats in person...Very impressive how they create those floats with all those flowers powered by a box car and an 1uz-fe motor.. He He...

Well the Beach BOys thought so.
NASCAR tyres should fir 10" x 15" rims.
Whilst not the best drag tyre they will work if given a good burn out.

Scary experience. Like a real fast truck. Handlles poorly, accelerates "sort of" and doesn't stop.

NASCAR's used banked tracks for a good reason.
They won't go round real bends.
Have a loook under a NASCAR the rear suspension would weigh 3 times what a normal rear suspension would weigh in an equivalent road car.
All the technology in them is antiquated.
I can assure you once you drive one you will respect the drivers a little more.

I have never driven a Nascar but I have looked them over bumber to bumber many times... Their tires are fat and slick, the suspension is light and "very" stiff, and the wheel base is wide on the front and rear.. The car is also lighter in weight and rides lower then most street driven sportcars.. I would think with all that good handling wouldn't be question....
The truck feel that you speak of, I would venture to guess would be because there is no power steering.. It would definetely be a rough ride for sure and that I do not dought.....

If you look at the tyre (tire) profile and tyre width/rim width they have built in flex in the sidewalls.
As you turn the steering wheel the wheel turns and the tyre flexes. A little later the tread of the tyre turns.
This gives a high "slip angle" and gives the car a soggy feel.
I will agree they are fast but from any sedan car racing viewpoint they are a heavy car.
Whilst you could put any road racing sedan on a banked oval and it would do nicely you couldn't put a NASCAR on a road course and have it perform very well.
There was a race series in Australia for NASCAR's run on normal race tracks.
They used to race Trucks at the same event and the trucks weren't all that much slower.
