Does anyone elses belt / belt tensioner squeak?

And speak loudly and intermitently? I tried a belt grip spray, have a new belt, but no matter what I do it makes loud noises often. Hot or cold doesnt matter. AC is gone and are using a 1955 belt.

You can change the bearing for the belt tensioner too. I did it last week and costed me $4 bucks instead of $17.

Done it already... just went to saceo and got a generic bearing instead of the toyota one.

HAve a double check of the alignment of the pulleys and the rub marks in the micro vees on the pulleys. Also check thet the belt still has sharp Vees if they have been worn off find out which pulley is rounded - (it makes sense to me) cheers Kelvin And what was that belt size again - I think we use a different one - cheers

Yeah the belt has maybe 100kms on it and the old belt I put about 500km on it before I changed it, both made this noise and its not constant. Im thinking of dumping the PS pump for an electric unit! Then only have an Alt belt around the crank. And thats it. Cant find an MR2 pump though.
