Carburetor

I know there will be a lot of negativity but has anybody used downdraught carbs on a UZ. I want to compete in an obscure beach race where EFI is not allowed and my favourite V8 of all time is my choice. I have Weber IDFs at my disposal but DCNFs would probably work better. Has anyone done this ?
