I have been having issues setting base timing on my turboed 93 1UZ non VVTi on 14lbs of boost. Before I rebuilt the engine my timing lock was set to 10 and my offset was -335 which put me at 10 degrees. Now my timing is at 40 degrees btdc with same offset. I have tried everything from -335 to -360 and even went positive with no change other than going a little higher but never lass. It runs and idles fine at about 800 rpms but all cylinders have a crazy amount of knock due to timing being so far advanced. The single dots on the cam gears are lined up, the #1 cylinder is TDC, and all timing marks are lined up. Did 2 rotations of the crank and marks were still lined up. I am running a link g4 xtreme with custom harness and during the rebuild the only thing I changed was a rehone, new piston rings and new headgasket. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what happened or if I did something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
