    Inlet manifold materials.

I'd be surprised if those cost you more than $100 plus postage to get those done but give them a call. HPC High Performance Coatings Pty Ltd 6 Watson Rd Leongatha 3953 (03) 5662 4338 Fax (03) 5662 4719 Internet www.hpcoatings.com.au Email...

I would go with HPC Ceramic Hyper coat inside and outside if making this from steel (alloy is the nice option if you can). Gives it that alloy finish which you can polish up even brighter, is very corrosion resistant and you don't risk it coming loose and going down the guts of the engine as...

TOYOTA oil & filter vs. others?

You can commonly get Mobil1 in 15W50 now as that is what I run just go to a Mobil depot. You can also get 10W30 and 0W30 in Mobil 1 if you want it.

Autocol, good summary of coatings above. I certainly agree regarding checking the grade of alloy before anodising. When doing my wheel centres, the first set were 2011 alloy which has high lead content and when anodised, the lead leaches to the surface and you get grey spotty appearance and it...

    easy hp mods

If those plus 4's are the ones I am thinking of with the 4 earth electrodes, I would be steering well clear of those. No better way to shroud your spark from the incoming aircharge. This is doing the exact opposite to what indexing your spark plugs achieves.

1uz into XB Mad Max mobile (73 falcon coupe)

Before I started any project on an early Ford, I would be fitting one of these Revolution Racing supplies kits to the front to convert to rack and pinion, strut front end with bigger brakes. You can also get strut tower notching plates to allow tons more clearance for a larger engine as the...

The latest news on Anthony's Twin Turbo 1uzfe

450rwHP with 6psi boost with stock motor...hmmm yeah right. I suggest if you really want to know what the HP is take a trip to the 1/4 mile and drop the car on a weigh bridge. Takes all the wank factor out of it. Dyno operators love to show how much power they have rung out of an engine...

ID this part and function please!

If you don't run your charcoal canister and this purge valve, your car wil have that fuelly smell on hot days as the fumes expanding out of the fuel tank will just vent to atmosphere.

ID this part and function please!

It is a canister purge solenoid so the ECU can allow the engine to purge the vapours in the charcoal canister at the appropriate time, most late model cars have these solenoids. You can mount it where ever you want if you want to move it but it should stay connected if you plan to use your...

    lexus v8 running gas

I checked those guys out a fair few years back when I was toying with the idea of going gas and was told at that stage there was no street kit developed for the liquid LPG injection as the development cost was far too high and the idea although it worked was not going to get off the ground...

    Twin turbo UZ ST185

Justen, Sounds like you have some traction issues if you are wheel spinning that much at that power level. I have been doing a fair amount on trying to improve traction as at this type of power level and above it is a big issue. What tires are you using? Do you know what wieght...

    Mr.2 swap????

My biggest concern with Bill Strong's project is how is he going to get all those wheels at the right angles, there is far too much camber on the rear at the moment and he doesn't seem to be allowing adjustment to remove it. Whilst it may work, the engine cradle thing isn't exactly pretty and...

    Mr.2 swap????

I wouldn't exactly say the northstar has been 'done'. I have been keeping an eye on Bill's website and like the idea. He has a ton more work to go to finish it though - and quite a few issues to sort out before it is finished which I am very keen to see how he gets around them. You would...

Quater mile time in v8 silvia

That is actually quite a good 60ft time with road tires on, my best 60ft time I have managed is a 1.94 - that was with my old tires and the new ones are heaps better so hopefully I can try them out soon. What terminal speed did you get over the 1/4? What rear gears are you running? Do you...

    Setting pinion and engine angles

Yeah my explanation was bit a bit breif & sketchy above - A diagram would be the best to describe this. Hint Hint. I feel it is sacrilige to speak of leaf spring rear ends in a forum like this :)

    Setting pinion and engine angles

I am surprised no-one has answered this yet. Anyway, the rule of thumb I have always heard - and used is the engine/gearbox should be about 3 degrees below horizontal and the diff flange should be about 3 degrees above horizontal when the car is at ride height. You do not want the...
