    cams and cam clearance i have a set of cams from a stripped motor...how do i preload the split gear on the exhaust cams ? also to adjust cam clearance, it appears that the valve clearance shims have to be replaced with different thickness shims....are these available separately or only in sets...

    i have 1uzfe motor which i have determined is 1990, it has centre sump, billet fuel rails, csi, bore dia.87.4mm. can anyone tell me if this is ls400 or gs400, and whether head gaskets for all years of 1uzfe are the same. also would anyone have the specifications for the oem head bolts length...

    thanks cobber, particularly interested in multilayer steel head gaskets. have had so much conflicting info from aus parts suppliers that i'm hoping to get info from this site to determine just which motor i have and also if the same head gaskets fit all 1uzfe motors.

    have 1uzfe in ac cobra replica using microtech lt8s,easy to wire,starts and runs well on factory map,yet to be tuned.have hand controller so don't need to use laptop to tune,no aircon so idle air control not needed.....have had a leaking head gasket but cannot give any info to parts suppliers in...
