I was wondering if an IS200 6-speed is an option if I'm going to transplant a 1UZ-FE in my s14A. Is it a strong gearbox? And what are the gear-ratio's? If it's a good choice, I can buy a manual from a junkyard and a 1UZ-FE so that a specialist can make a adapterplate to match them together...

My project will not go as planned, as I will probably be going to uruzgan this year. I'll keep on prepping the car, but I'm not sure if I can start with the transplant:sorry: I will keep on posting every step of the project 'till I'm gone.

A bit further now. Got the strutbars fitted and the car is a bit more direct feel while steering. I'm planning to get some swaybars soon (I'm still doubting if I'll get a front one, considering the frontsump). I already discussed the EMS with a guy who knows about the best and it's going...

That´s good to hear. I hope I´ll be able to buy it in the summer. That way I also have a little bit more time to sort stuff out and maybe even ride my car with the V8 before end of the year.

I got a friend who has bought an RB20DET via ebay and it worked for him, but he didn't really have a choice 'cause they don't sell RB's in the Netherlands. I wanted to know your opinion and I made my choice and will buy it from the shop. Thanx!

I also want it as low and far back as the gearbox allows. But I will definately keep the swaybar, actually I'm going to order even better ones to fit under the car. So I'll need to make a custom sump. But I'll first have to test fit a couple of times so I will have time enough to get it...

It's possible to buy the 1UZFE from ebay, but at a shop near my town they have 2nd hand 1UZFE's. The one that looks best at the shop has 145.000 km's (that's around 90.000 miles). On ebay they sometimes have engines that have run much lower mileage, but can I trust this. Friend of mine...

As I posted in your topic, I'm very impressed. How was your experience with using a stock front-sump (I know you had a rear, but maybe you tried with a front) or did you not have the opportunity to try it out and went straight for a custom sump?

Wow! This really looks good. Haven't thought of that option myself. Will definately be taking this in regard. Do you happen to know the space between the crossmember and the swaybar? I'd like to know if it's the same as with the s14.

I'm not sure what you mean with sump. But if it's engine-bottom for the oil, then I already thought about it, because it will definately be nescesary. There's only another problem (not sure if you encountered it), the steering-device. The engine comes very near maybe even against it and that's...
