Thanks, yeah it pays to shop round sometimes. Mine XP utes a long way from a tailshaft yet and I'm steering toward a supra 5 speed now. Does'nt matter how much thought you put into a project there are alway bugs to sort out once on the road eh. Sounds like your sorting through yours ok Keep at it

Well written diary How much did they sting you for the tailshaft? I was quoted about $800.00 to make one for my ute. Are they trying to stitch me. Thanks Momec

Or do a TeeKay test. Most workshops will do this for ten bucks and its dead accurate. Unless its running rough its unlikly to be a head gasket. Alloy heads on an alloy block are very hard to pop gaskets on.
