In the US this car would never be a daily driver. It won't be street legal here as said by the maker of the car. Streetfire had a video of them at the 06 SEMA show.
Yeah those commercials are great. I especially like the parallel parking one.
"I remember when we only had radio. I remember when TV was black and white." so on and so on then, "I remember when I had to parallel park."
That part was gangsta! HAHA.
Yes they are related. Figures measure 87 was shot down. But hey with all the money from Chevron feeding the anti 87 commercials the uninformed would naturally vote their way like lemmings.
There are plenty of SC's with 2JZGTE transplants that go much faster than 13 sec. As for using a v8, there was the Blast Racing SC that used a fully built 2UZ in it that ran 8's or so.
I have a vid of it burning out.
Will be considered a classic, but too bad it'll still have to get smogged. CA got rid of the law stating that any car over 25 or 30 years old no longers needs to be smogged. I think it's grand fathered though if your car is from 73 or older.
Downloading the video right now. Can't wait to see it.
As for no pic and only sound, you need to check your codecs and make sure you have the right one(s).
ChrisV was just pointing out that the car you posted was not a Mustang as indicated by your thread title.
Of course the GT is better than the Mustang. But then you're talking about two entirely differet brackets of cars.
Both these shows are shown regularly here in the US. Rides is on TLC around 9pm and American Choppers is on Discovery.
I prefer Rides and Great Biker Build Off. I didn't know Rides came out on DVD already. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.
Didn't realize the Scrantons ran a 5.3 liter V8 compared to Wakita's 4.9 liter V8.
As for those videos I'm sure I can find them out here in SoCal. I'd just have to hit up Torrance or Lil Tokyo.
I'll see next time I'm out there.
Here is a small profile on the Blast Racing Soarer:

Unfortunately I don't have any video of it.
Oh and for enough money you can buy the engines from him since they're just sitting in his shop last I heard.
Well I know 1000+ V8 2UZ horsepower has been heard on this side of the world. Blast racing used it in their Soarer they campaigned and then there was the Celica (forgot who ran it).
These cars are no longer in the spot light due to the fact that there is no V8 class for the import scene anymore.
Well there is Blast racing located in Southern California. If you're wondering who they are you should look them up.
They used to race a 1UZFE soarer with well over 1500hp. In fact last I heard he still had those race motors in his shop since they switched back to the 2JZGTE.
Congrats on the purchase. Looks to be in good condition. Just make sure there is no FOD or excessive shaft play.
Can't wait to see your project go underway.
I'm not sure the full cost of the swap but the tranny is usually on sale on supraforums. Check their classified section and I saw one in particular for $1,000.
The main cost will be adapting the 6spd to the 1uz. There is a company in Aus at the moment that is in the process of making these...
