Does anyone have info on how TOYOTA oil & oil filters compare to others like Mobil1? Would there be any problems switching to synthetic oil in the 2UZFE motor?

It is supposed to be on my 2001 Sequoia, but I haven't been able to get it to test. I am following the instructions, but I am afraid to tap too hard on the glass as I feel it may break.
