Not sure if this option is available in your setup, but check if the shift solenoid wiring active state set to high or low. High = Power is switched ON to activate the solenoid Low = Power is switched OFF to activate the solenoid Yours should be set to high - if its set to low, theres your...

If you still have 12v @ S1 with the PRNDL box unplugged, it sounds like there is an issue with your ECU. It should not be putting out any power unless its in the forward shift pattern. This is the box I made - it outputs the following voltages P = 4.5v R = 4.0v N - 3.5v D = 3.0v 2 = 2.5v 1 =...

    Thread for A340E coolant adaptors

Good to know - I've been thinking about getting rid of the mangled steel pipes and fitting some AN6 lines

No, I made my own. $15 in parts from Jaycar and 30 minutes of soldering. If your PRND2L switch is not configured correctly, it may be thinking you are in a drive gear, when you're not. What does it show in your gear position value as you change through each gear? When you say the software had a...

I have a 2500 Elite running the auto - using DBW1 P1 & P2 - and it works perfectly. Provided you have Toyota A340 selected as your transmission type, the software is programmed to use the shift solenoids in the right sequence. Are you using the NSP software? Let me know if you need some help...

If the part number is the same, then yes. If the part number is different, you will likely need to modify it

Welcome to the forum - could you post some pics of your SC400 exo car??? Sounds interesting!

Catch can frame and internals have been tacked up and test fitted. Should have it painted and installed shortly. Next comes the exhaust.

Perform a manual shift test. Unplug the valve body connector from the rear of the gearbox and drive it. Move the gear shifter manually and you should have the following gears. Shifter Position Gear Selected DRIVE 4th 2ND 3rd LOW 1st If this is what you get, the issue is likely...

    Catch Can Theory

In prep to build a catch can setup, I've been weighing up the pros and cons of commercially available units and most of them are crap. Either the flow well and catch nothing, or they catch lots and restrict the air. One thing that stands out is that gas flow against a surface that opposes...

I forgot to note, aluminium thickness next to the spark plug tubes is only about 8-10mm and I don't have bottoming taps - so I drilled right through, and the bolts have ultra-grey sealant on them to ensure nothing leaks out + the bolt stays put. All the other bolts have Toyota thread locker...

Amongst many other small (but necessary) jobs, the rocker covers came off in prep for the breather system mods. The baffle plate "rivets" are removed easily with a drill and die grinder. Had the covers and baffles soaking in an alkaline degreaser for a few hours and all the oil residue came off...

    3uz low idle in gear

From factory 1UZs have a switching valve on the power steering line so that when the hydraulic pressure goes up, it creates an air leak past the throttle and idles up then engine. Common toyota thing. Fit the valve, along with the hoses (goes into the front of the manifold from memory) and your...

    Where do those pins go?

Thats the vacuum switching valve for evap but all the wiring diagrams I have list the trigger wire as white... not brown. Your image shows a very light brown, and the brown wires are usually a lot darker. It's possible that it's actually a white wire that is stained from age/heat/etc (?). The...

    1UZ into E36

Oh, the joys of an engine conversion. Its the hundreds of tiny jobs (that nobody sees) that need to be done otherwise the whole thing falls apart in a screaming mess. Like today... all of it. When the shifter was installed months ago, it encroached on the area where the climate control ECU...

With a basic tune, rich mixtures and very conservative timing, it feels very strong. Datalog of today's testing shows boost topping out at 6psi (gate spring). The highest TPS was 45%. I can't wait to see what 100% throttle and 14psi feels like!
