Yes the neck with the thermo stat mounted in it goes to the bottom of the radiator.

With my 1st motor it was used. It died, so I had it rebuilt and it has now started leaking out the shaft seal. It has only done just under 5000kms since it was rebuilt.

The best thing you could do Rod is just hand the blower setup over to me and I`ll put it under my bonnett. If it wouldn`t fit under it I`d just cut a hole in it without even thinking about it. Doing this will save you lots of work hehehehe.

For anybody that is interested my hilux will be in the May issue of 4x4 Australia magazine. It should hit the shelves around the end of this month as it went to print last week.

I ended up hitting it all the way in so it just fell out the bottom. The plug is softer metal then the block so it doesn`t hert the block at all. Then I just reused the same plug in the old dip stick hole with some gaskit gu on it, haven`t had any problems yet.

Let me know the next time one comes up cheep, if I haven`t allready got a chev I might get it.

Here is my busted front diff centre. Looks like the bolts that hold the airlock housing together had worked loose and one had fallen out and that busted the diff. I know this lock is stuffed anyway and have a brand new one to go in in its place next week along with new gears and bearings...

Rod most if not all 4x4`s tranfers are 1:1 in high range.

I run after market gauge and the standard dash one. When I start it from cold the standard gauge is write down at cold. Once the motor hits 85 deg cel the standard gauge is up to half and never moves past that even when the after market reads 115 deg cel at which I stop and let it cool down...
