P/N for Toyota 36-2 Crank Trigger Wheel?

John, I am guessing it would be cheaper... to buy an imported JDM engine rather than pay the dealer cost on a new crank... plus you get all the other VVTi goodies.

Toyota 1UZ carbureted VVTi DYNO RUN

Dyno type and other variables aside... Rock-a-Lex over at CL reports a max of 283rwp on a GS400 with a VVTi 1UZFE, the stock 5 speed A6505 trans, headers, cold air intake, piggyback fuel controller, short tube headers and a dyno tune. Highest that I am aware of.

Toyota 1UZ carbureted VVTi DYNO RUN

Very cool Justen. Actually, I should have typed EFI not just FI as I meant stock with fuel injection rather than carbed. Seems that carbed engines often make more peak power though... theory seems to be the fuel getting emulsified vs. sprayed... Now, once peak is established on...

Toyota 1UZ carbureted VVTi DYNO RUN

Not sure if this has been posted before. Found on Youtube. Locked reground cams. Alternator, dry sump and of course water pump. Claimed 450+hp with maybe 8500rpm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ol6E_DSdBc&feature=related I would like to see what a factory 1uzfe VVTi is capable of...

HELP Steer me away from a Chevy LSx

Stevieg, Up until now Justen's was the most powerful per psi stock longblock I was aware of. Your numbers are off the chart  Do you have the details and pics posted somewhere. Would very much like to see this beast. I am guessing carefully crafted manifolding, great tuning and a...

HELP Steer me away from a Chevy LSx

Justin, just to clarify... are you suggesting an internally stock 1uzfe has made a reliable 570rwkw??? (764rwhp  ) ...or... just reporting the highest internally stock LS based engine you are familiar with? What again was your peak rwhp/rwkw on you stocker? I know you made 411rwkw...

V8 Turbocharging to gain 100 horsepower

I am about to go to the air/fuel section for piggyback recommendations. I emailed Greddy since they do not list a Lexus/Toyota V8 option... only the 4 and 6 cylinder cars :( Hopefully one can be adapted but if not what else would you guys like to recommend?

V8 Turbocharging to gain 100 horsepower

XR8tt, I think what you are saying is the torque will see a strong increase due to the boost. I agree. For the same reason a FI engine with low/mid range boost will have much more low/mid RPM torque and will therefore be faster than an equal peak horsepower vehicle in any contest that includes...

V8 Turbocharging to gain 100 horsepower

Justen, yes, I agree, was going to use your example except that you have a manual transmission (good for probably 25hp on the stock unboosted engine) and you have the golden touch for tuning. So, in your case, you probably started with a combo that would make 200rwhp/150rwkW... added 6.5psi...

V8 Turbocharging to gain 100 horsepower

I am talking crank not wheel horsepower. 5psi being 1/3 an atmosphere gives a simplified 1/3 gain in power. Stock power is 300 crank. Now, that said, boost is only a measure of the pressure in the intake manifold and the true measure of supercharging is the increase in mass flow...

V8 Turbocharging to gain 100 horsepower

I am strongly looking towards turbocharging my 1999 Lexus V8 with a goal of adding 100hp. A 100hp gain via turbocharging will take aproximately 5psi of boost which may be usable without intercooling depending on the compressor and ulitimate packaging. It should also work with the stock engine...

    Toyota 5.0

You're stated goals are to gain experience (engine building, performance enhancement) something unique (5.0 Lexus/Toyota xUZ build) and something "modest"... btw, a NA xUZ making 500hp is NOT modest! You can gain experience and maybe wisdom from the long and expensive route... take on the...

EXCELLENT news for A650E 5 speed automatic transmission cars (1998-2004+) Lexus

email Jeff at [email protected] MORE INCREDIBLE GOOD NEWS... Jeff has dyno'd his 2002 VVTi GS300... WITH... the A650E transmission... 800+rwhp    http://my.is/forums/f114/i-finally-dynod-my-car-new-world-record-gs300-pix-videos-inside-441162/ On the STOCK ECU...

    serious help guys

IMO the BEST thing is to use a completely stock pre-1996 1uzfe Add a single turbo and good tuning and you should have reached your goals. If for any reason the engine breaks... replacements are abundant and cheap. Buy a second and fit with forged rods and pistons to get a 600+hp engine...

HELP Steer me away from a Chevy LSx

boXXer, welcome, you have come to the right place. Mr. Cribb above is an outstanding member and contributor and Ferrari owner/sometimes driver :p ... .... but... is he "compelled" to "hate" anything resembling classic American V8's. John, in all fairness, the LSx shares virtually nothing...

    Project Thread Project SC400TT

Ryan, congrats for finally getting it to the point of beginning the dyno tuning. While disappointing to not be able to control the boost you are at least getting an idea of what it will be capable of. 439whp is somewhere over 500hp engine hp. 500hp @ 4600rpm = 571lb/tq

    Exhaust Sizing

I am uncertain of your goals. It sounds like the stock system is OK and you maybe want more "sound"... I would not recommend changing the stock duals to a single. The dual pipes allow much more muffling area. Have you tried the muffler delete? Simply remove the rear two mufflers and...

    G'day

Welcome to Lextreme! Availability, strength and options will favor the 4 speed automatic over the 5 speeds.

    VVTi SC400

Great looking SC there David. How many miles on it? Strange that the engine was "rebuilt" as you would not expect that to be needed except in extreme circumstances. What is a great deal? (how much?) If not damaged I bet someone will want the OEM body parts to upgrade and older SC.

    N/a 1uz

Are your goals engine power or "dynojet" (rwhp) power? Member RMS built an optimized (for his goal) individual throttle body intake manifold and long tube tuned headers. On an otherwise completely stock Tokyo taxi cab 1UZ (first gen) measured 306hp @ 6500rpm and 270tq @ 5000rpm. These are...
