Zuffen, think of 180deg as a straight line and 90 is of course a right angle, 135 is what some people wrongly call 45deg, the protractor tells all. Sorry i'm a builder I love angles. Yes I was thinking the same about the air entering on an angle. Thanks for your input. Cheers

I narrowed down the guides on my heads when I did them, with a die grinder as part of the porting process. The only problem I have encountered with this practise over the years is, if it is left too thin at the top it can get hot and fold in on the valve stem (not good). Pics below.

No, no, the waste gate has a boost/vac hose connected to it from the intake manifold. That hose is what a boost controller is connected into. An electronic boost controller uses a solenoid in line on that hose and opens and shuts the valve within it to control how much pressure the wastegate...
