About 1 in 3 times when I start my 1UZFE when it's stone cold a tensioner or idler will squeal for about 20 seconds then go away. I am contemplating a front end tear down to do water pump and cambelt. I priced bits at the local auto store and they don't carry the drive belt idler or tensioner...

Most of the 1UZ swaps I have seen have the gearbox sitting further back than stock, usually about 3-5 cm's. On the manual there is enough room to modify the stock gates and boots and have it all sealed up again, not sure what an auto would be like. Matt.

Thanks Sideshow. I still don't have a wiring diagram yet so not sure how many wires go to the auto ecu but I would be suprised if there was too many and wouldn't have thought the signal's would be hard to replicate. Will have a look once I get a diagram and see if I can work it out. Worst...

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the factory auto ecu? I could then work out what the inputs are and possibly duplicate them. The full manual option shouldn't be that difficult to sort out, a bunch of relays and some buttons should allow me to control the 1-4...
