    1uz-vvti..Help a total 1uz noob please.

Motec MLS is designed for early 1UZ's, not the 98+ engines. It has only 4 injector drivers (can't do full sequential fuel injection). I really doubt it has any vvti control. IMO, if you are going to do Motec, go for the M800 and nothing less.

    5.7L supercharger

I really like how they mounted that SC. Not only does it blow upward, the SC is flipped front-to-back, so the intake is in the front, avoiding any extra plumbing for the intake.

    Yet another 1uz mk4 supra

Very nice way to do the TH400, avoiding any potential issues with a very large GM bellhousing.

Any Interest in a Oil Relocation Adaptor Plate?

Thanks for pointing out the earlier post; I must have skipped it. Sealants (FIPGs) are fine for relatively low pressure applications, like oil pans, but I would never use it on something high pressure like this. A paper gasket will hopefully work. O-ring is obviously best (no doubt why Toyota...

That only works if we are registered on that site as well. Not all sites require registration, but the one you referenced does :) If I had a dollar for every site I had to register for...

yes, the 2.3l. Not sue if they make "the sound"

    Supercharger Sizing

I am surprised noone has mention lysholm/autorotor/whipple twin screw superchargers. They have a 140ci charger (2.3l) that is not too big, incredbily effcient, and would probably support up to 600 rwhp. BTW, the AMGs you long over have the lysholm...

    Siamese'd Cylinders ?

I trust Toyota to do chain drive well. They would not have made a switch -from- belts unless they were very confident about it. I also don't anticpate many UZ/UR hybrids -too hard to match up a chain driven block with belt driven heads or vice versa. Besides, the UR heads are probably another...

    Siamese'd Cylinders ?

I think the bore centers are extactly the same on both motors. 4.7 are not siamesed. There really shouldn't be much packing issues for chains. I'd actually suspect the engine is shorter in height and depth with chains, since they can use smaller gears than belts. As for the liners, maybe...

    Project Thread Supercharged Supra

IMO, I would grab an off the shelf holly carb and just fire it off. I assume you'll have something to fire ignition coils? My project is in hibernation. Too many other things in life going on, but I will be back...

engine block weight differences between 3uz 2uz 2jz

So, If one were to do a manual with a V8, a 1UZ at 386 lbs, plus a medium wieght flywheel would be about 400 lbs, and a 2JZGTE less turbos is 490 lbs, wow a weight savings of 90 lbs! That is good news. John, that weight was with no belt driven accessories on that 2JZ?

    Project Thread Supercharged Supra

John, will you make a custom top plate for your SC intake for the carb? Or just an adapter for the hole in your existing top plate? I did not know Chris had a quicksilver Supra these days -looks very nice. I hear you about the Link; I am very temped to jump on that one.

engine block weight differences between 3uz 2uz 2jz

2JZGTE weighs a lot because the turbo assembly is very heavy and the flywheel alone is 38 lbs. If you put 2 turbos on a 1UZ and a manual transmission (flywheel on engine) I doubt the weight difference will be a lot.

    2007 5.7 Tundra Motor

With the volumes of tundras being sold in the USA, it should not take long at all.

    2007 5.7 Tundra Motor

We are missing the other choice: wait for some new tundras to be totalled, and pull the engine. I am sticking with a 1UZ & 2UZ mainly because I already have them.

    2007 5.7 Tundra Motor

If we all wanted best bang/buck, we'd buy a 500ci caddy motor out of a junk late 60's - early 70's car ($250) swap in a better cam ($100), and have 500 HP. But bank/buck isn't the only consideration, especially for a V8 swap into a Supra. The Toyota motors have plenty of HP potential, they...
