    Standalone ECU Going Adaptronic thread!

Yes, I downloaded WARI awhile back. As a matter of fact, I about have my settings all ready to go. It seems so far easier to use than the MAFTPro stuff I have been dealing with so hopefully I'll be good. Thanks, KC

    Standalone ECU Going Adaptronic thread!

So a couple of pictures attatched. One is of course the Adaptronic. It is way smaller than I imagined it would be for some reason. Amazing to me, all the ability in such a small package. The other is of my 4-channel ABS speed sensor convertor. Will in theory convert the signals from the...

    Standalone ECU Going Adaptronic thread!

They've raised the price some since I bought mine but here is a link to a US dealer - http://www.boundaryengineering.com/drupal/node/14 Also, when I said that a performance shop in my area charged $1000 to tune an AEM I was wrong, it's $1200. http://www.3sxautomotive.com/dyno/ The Adaptronic...

    Standalone ECU Going Adaptronic thread!

I think the main reason is cost. Even used an AEM cost more than the Adaptronic e420c does new and I'm sure Mitch doesn't rework them for free. Also, I think the Adaptronic is probably easier to tune (maybe I'm wrong). But, there is a local tuner in my area that charges $1000 dollars to tune an...

    Standalone ECU Going Adaptronic thread!

So, making a diagram and studying it is a must when planning an install like this. It allows one to visualize things and see how everything will work and wire together before actually doing it. It can also help find problems in the plan. Last night while I was studying it and looking over the...

    Standalone ECU Going Adaptronic thread!

Apparently I put the wrong link for the Adaptronic (where I bought it) so here is the correct link - http://www.boundaryengineering.com/drupal/

    Standalone ECU Going Adaptronic thread!

So after so long running on the stock ECU I have finally decided to go with a standalone. This is partially based on my last few track runs where I was losing fuel at the top of the RPM band. I’m still not sure what was happening but I think I was either putting too much fuel pressure on the...

I'll get it working one way or the other. Hell, swapping the harness would be a project in itself. I was thinking about buying a used ECU to steal the connector out of and attempting to make my own PnP harness. Doesn't seem like it should be that hard to do. KC

Thanks man. I will probably have a ton of questions, LOL. I think I'm going to start a new thread in the tuning section. KC

Ok, just made payment on an Adaptronic e420c with 18inch harness and decided to get a new 3bar sensor with it. Hell of a deal I'm pretty sure, $761.91 shipped! KC

Thanks for the input, that's what I like to hear. One reason for going with the Adaptronic is because of it's known usage on the 1uz. I know there's a few here and I think quite a few more guys on soarercentral that are using it. Rob Knox @ Adaptronic also assured me that a base map could be...

So at this point I think I'm gonna get myself and Adaptronic e420c. Scott, if you read this I am now kicking myself for not buying yours. LOL. I've been talking with Rob Knox from Adaptronic, Neil from Rush Imports and been browsing other forums of people who use it and it sounds good. I have...

It's funny you mentioned that. Right after I posted I went to SF and checked. Found three after a quick search for pretty cheap. KC

Thanks for the input guys. spf - definately let me know how it goes with the Adaptronic. I have always been interested in the unit and it seems that with the amount of 1uz use it gets it should be pretty easy to at very least get a good base map. Do you plan on tuning it yourself? Tuner...

Hey guys, need some input. Warning: LONG READ….LOL. First, for anyone not familiar with my setup: 95 Lexus SC400. Stock motor, original as far as I know. Haven't even had a valve cover off. Supercharged with a Vortech V-9 running about 12psi. MaftPro piggyback, NO MAF sensor, GM 3bar. 315...

Would I benefit from a larger throttle body?

Thanks for the input cribbj, sounds reasonible. Probably not really worth the work unless I want to do something with the intake while I'm at it. I would love to flip / improve the upper and improve the lower intakes but I have no fab skills / tools. KC

Would I benefit from a larger throttle body?

Something I've always wondered. I have a Vortech supercharger. The outlet of the supercharger is 2.5 inches so I have 2.5 inch pipe run for a bit, then stepped up to 3 inch to fit the stock throttle body. A 3inch inside diameter hose coupling fits snugly over the stock (70mm bore?) throttle...

    Stock 1UZ @ 11.07 ET

That sounds about right. I think I'm at around 400rwhp. Made 350rwhp awhile back when I was trapping at 109mph, now usually around 115mph. My best 1/4 to date is 12.047 @ 115mph (ish) in an SC400 that is a little bit more than 1000lbs heavier than your car.:p Great job and good luck with the...

Project Thread Vortech on a tired 1UZ-FE

Are you using a bypass valve? I am not currently using one but have in the past. Using one dramatically decreases intake temps for normal driving since no boost is actually made. Most noticable on the highway. I don't think your "kickdown" cable is actually that. At least its not on my car. It...
