How is it that my car runs with no MAF?

Did you pull the EFI fuse for 30 seconds yet? What year is the car? Traction control blinking means it has a problem also. Time to check all DTCs'.

How is it that my car runs with no MAF?

The ECU substitutes a known good value. Open and closed loop has nothing to do with it. In fact, closed loop would be better, as it gives the ECU an idea about how well it is controlling the engine. When the airflow signal is lost, a base value is used, as pointed out. The engine speed and...

    Shelby GT500

The 5.4 can't rev? I don't know what to say. Learn a little more about it, and don't think that there is only one version, and it shares with the F-150. The LS series is a great engine. But it doesn't flow more air through the cylinder heads. Apples to apples means you have to compare the...

What kind of car? Stock 1UZ computer controls? What year? What codes? What have you checked.

    Code 25, any ideas?

So you see a slow responding low voltage oxygen sensor. What more did you need to check? See how easy sarcasm is? False air creates a drivability problem usually. You would have seen another symptom. What year is the car? You don't have a KV airflow meter?

    engine starts and then stalls

Pull codes first. An air intake leak will do that. So will a lack of fuel pressure from heat soak vaporizing fuel in the rail.

    Electrical help - over charging?

It is not likely a charging problem, but a battery problem. Over filling it will do that. So will a sulfated battery. So will overheating it.

    code 41 & 47 limps @ 1900-2200 RPM's

If you have 5 volt refrence, you don't need an ECU. That is very unlikely that you need one. It isn't a Chevy. 41 means the ECU isn't recieving the TPS signal, it doesn't mean the TPS is bad. You likely have poor wiring somewhere.

Weight loss and meeting cafe standards is why we have aluminum blocks. Not for stiffness. It is great that the alloys have been doped up so well to make them stiff though.

Who tunes at 12.5:1? Work with fuel trim, not against it, and tuning is not a problem.

    Obdii

I have already been through those courses. Thanks anyway. I didn't misstate anything, but I did not read correctly what you wrote. I took that as you are saying that open loop is entered because of long term fuel trim. That is what it looks like you said. What about the rest of my post? ;)...
