For the weight of an ls400 I'd go with 1.75" 0.120wall DOM tubing, you need to TIG weld chromoly. No need for mandrel bent tubes as long as it's a good quality tubing bender with the correct bending dies Steve

If it's an early (90-4) you don't need to emulate anything for the transmission, just hook it up and go. I'm running a 91 ls400 engine/ecu in an ae86 with a w58 manual trans Steve
