Need help buying a TIG welder, 230V $1500 price limit, any ideas?

I have a Miller Dynasty 200, which I think is only a little out of your price range (it was for me as well, but I still got it). It is a good all around machine: will plug in to 110, 220, 460V single or three phase, does not pull too many amps (my previous machine tripped my breaker all the...

    Another Corolla update

Yeah, well the olny way I can fit all my crap in there is to keep it very organized. And that bottle collection has been almost 20 years in the making--I drank every one of them. Mark

    Another Corolla update

I was reviewing all the pics I had of my project and I thought these two showed my progress really well. The top one is from the first day I had the car, and the second was taken this weekend. It doesn't really show in pictures very well (so I'm not even going to try), but I have made a ton of...

My Corolla will be faster--NOT!!! Although I did see a GT-3 RS last Friday, and just about pee'd my pants as it passed me on the freeway. Good motivation to work on mine! Mark

    1UZ Clutch and Flywheel Needs

What is your address? I'll see if I can sneak it out UPS at work (no cost to you). It's less than $10 to send it UPS ground anyway. Mark

    My manifold so far

This is just a mock up. I wasn't sure what was going to work, and we had some 1/4" plate at the shop, so that's what I grabbed. The actual manifold will be made from 3/8", which I had to purchase since we don't have any at work. Mark

    My manifold so far

Not quite. It's a '75 Corolla. The suspension and most of the drive train is from a 92 SC400. Mark

    Wanted Front sump

Anyone have a front sump set up they want to part with? I have a rear sump, but a front sump will work much better with the 180 degree exhaust I am trying to do. Thanks, Mark

    My manifold so far

I don't know if this is going to help any of you who are trying to keep your SC under the hood (bonnet) but this is what I doing with mine. I do not have it as far down as possible for two reasons: 1) I want to put an intercooler core inside the manifold, and 2) I wanted to clear the stock fuel...

LS400 S/C through bonnet manifold - thoughts please

Actually, the belt on mine is not all that long at 106.6 inches and it wasn't very difficult to do. Plus my SC is mounted kind of high--I'll take some pics of what I have mocked up so far. Mark

LS400 S/C through bonnet manifold - thoughts please

Even though I'm doing it to mine, I'm doing the all out hot rod thing with an old car. What you have is a classy luxury sedan, and I'm not sure how well the hot rod look would be on such a car. It would be unique, though.
