part dry sump using stock pumps

Was thinking exactly the same as I read the top post. I don't know a great deal about dry sump but have been considering it as would save a great deal of hassle on my project as the bottom cross member is very much in the way. When researching scavenging pumps they came out at £500 or £600 I...

1UZ say Hi from Bangkok (dyno test)

proper little Thai love-in going on here! :) Good luck guys and post some numbers when you dyno your cars. 1UZ's in German cars a bit of a novelty then all of a sudden you lot have a couple of BMW's and a Merc on the go. Well done. I'm working on a Porsche 944 conversion in the UK though...

    FI and Oil Leak

Hi MWP, a couple of questions as didn't think I would need a PCV system. 1. How would you set up with a carb system? 2. Would this change if the carb was a blow through from a SuperCharger? 3. If Dry sump would you still need it as effectively the scavange pumps have the crank on more of a...

    Gas Prices

Biodiesel is the way to for the family run about. Ok for fun you want high octance petrol but for sitting in traffic through town there's no justification for £1/$US1.81 per litre. There's a cottage industry starting up here with people getting waste oil from the local chippie or chinese...

    Gas Prices

Eh? Maybe £4-£5 a UK gallon (8 pints or 4.54545 litres) So that's about a US$9 gallon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It'll be cheaper to run cars on 20 year old single malt soon! Mark

    General Approach to transmission adapters

Thanks for that. So as the 1UZ is an an engine mated to auto normally how do you measure the deficit/gain between 2 different set ups when mating them? So crank end difference to block end, then bell end (snigger) difference to the clutch plate face. This totalled amount then less the adapter...

    Dump valves and explosions!

Well that's what I was thinking but I'm sure a few people have mentioned a single injector prior to a compressor to keep it cool and mulling it over I was thinking it didn't sound right and wanted to confirm it. Cheers M

    Dump valves and explosions!

I've just started an dumb thread in the Drive train area, so now it's time to ask a daft question here! ;o) Been thinking........ (dangerous)...... Blow off valves/Dump valves etc. If on an FI engine they should be on the pressurised side and can dump to atmosphere, recirculate to the blower or...

    General Approach to transmission adapters

Been thinking as no one has really majored on transmission swaps explaining the knock on effect on the input shaft from adding an adapter plate. Please correct me if I've missed the obvious but if you manufacture an adapter plate for a manual transmission and use the related flywheel, clutch...

    Cams?

Rod are one of these options the route that Kelford take.... or anyone else? I need a FI super charger grind and don't really know how much material needs to be added or removed, and therfore whether to go Kelford, CSL or an option on the cams offered in this thread. What do you all...
