    Lexus racing intake...

Wha-hey, I'm in with both feet again!!! ;) Seriously though, it was a compliment. As I was typing I was thinking of loads of, shall we say 'very experienced' chaps who produse wonders from mere sheds and outhouses. Ken Tyrell came to mind. Nice looking motor! Please post much more info. M

Can you take a Soarer full sump off the engine when it's still in the car??????????

Thanks for the process break down Gloverman. A reasonable mechanic? Hmmmmm.... in my own garage with my own tools and no one looking over my shouler maybe, but in some one elses workshop with borrowed tools then there's no guarantees.

Can you take a Soarer full sump off the engine when it's still in the car??????????

Many reasons not to buy, the main one being totally skint at the moment as starting a new business this year and money isnt an 'optional extra' at the moment. I've been offered one for free and trying to take advantage but there's no point starting to try and get it out if I can't see it...

Can you take a Soarer full sump off the engine when it's still in the car??????????

Hmmmm... The guy who has the car (and 2 others) is about 2 hours away from me and I think runs some kind of Toyota Import service centre and said it will take me 2 days to pull the engine and box on my own and that it's the only way to get to the sump. I think he's being too generous with...

Can you take a Soarer full sump off the engine when it's still in the car??????????

Thanks Dave, given about 6 hours, 1 ramp, 1 wrench wielding monkey (me), and an engine support could it be done? Do I need to lift the engine or just support it at the same level and drop everything else away underneath? Any other pointers as I will be on a time limit, without many of my...

    Electric Superchargers?

So that's a promise we can hold you to then, yeah? Jibbbbby isn't going to post the words 'Electric Supercharger' and 'hey it's worth 3 million horsepower, look it's on the web so it must be true', again!!!! Yay !!! ;) (take it on the chin lad) ;)

Can you take a Soarer full sump off the engine when it's still in the car??????????

Following on from this: http://lextreme.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6532 I have very kindly been offered a Soarer sump but it's on a stricken car many miles from where I live and I have to remove it myself. So the big Q is .... can the Soarer sump be removed from under the car without the...

    Electric Superchargers?

Honestly Mate give it up!!!! Electric fans are shite and don't believe any of the crap marketing drivel they attach to it. A car engine is just a big pump and no electric fan powered by the car itself will work as the pumping effect of the car would outstretch it, or with back pressure...

    Sweet Sixteen

Sorry Mate - I suppose I needed to live the Fiero pain in the country to see the in joke! I guess it's truly a lemon then. I think we need to find a sarcastic smiley so that the cross multi-continental jokes don't get lost in the common language. I'm so tempted to..... no better not! ;o)...

But again can a Fiero be percieved as a potential classic as an LS can? Again a limited territory production not a global car. M

    Sweet Sixteen

I'm sorry Jibbers but I just don't get the Buick. I know I said quirky is good towards counting towards 'classic' but I think the Grand National comes under 'odd ball' PLus it's limited to one territory rather than global. My off the cuff nominations for potential 80's classics are all pretty...

Cool. Got a link? There's nothing like grey haired old boys with big ears soldiering away in dingy garages and producing engineering masterpieces!

a what? Never heard of it, and it probably hasn't been sold outside of the Americas. All the one's I've mentioned are global and have followings in every market which is why I chose them. To be fair it wasn't a scientific survey as they were all off the top of my head as I typed.

Dave and Lextremers... I think you're on a winner here with the LS, as once a car gets too that sort of age, most people turn their noses up at it, as they fall lemming like into the nearest showroom to buy another brand new box (that looks a bit like the last 'but hey the interiors got...
