How Hard Is It To Stop a Prius?

I don't even need to look at the links. I just can't understand why people continue to allow the Pruis to excellerate and then cause real danger. The one guy just kept it going at 90mph and fried his brakes, called 911 even.. First try and turn off the ingnition, that doesn't work I...

    Lextech lighting has failed me..

I'm now restoring my SC400 again.. Making it like new.. My instrument cluster that I sent in to Lextech lighting 3 years ago has completely burned out light by light over time.. No needles illuminate, no small gauges either.. That company is garbage and offers no warranty and apparently...

95 Era SC400 erattic idle, and sub o2 censor codes

Can someone tell me what and where the ISC is? I have a high idle after a timing belt change and a 94 transmission swap.. It revs high almost 1000rmps, the then bouces when I lay off the gas rolling at highway speeds.. I'm wondering if the trans codes are different on a 92 because I installed a...

UZ Engines: Interference or Non Interference?

Well, I just got my 92 SC4 back yesterday after having the timing belt break at full thottle and then replaced.. Engine now purs again, no head damage.. Idle runs a bit high but that's it, tune up will be coming up next.. I am asking myself now, why ever change the timing belts on the early...

    The Engine blows finally!!!

You are good Super runner... Yeah, I am definetely going to replace those idlers along with the timing belt as that was infact the probable cause of the timing belt to fail in the first place... The Bearings in those old idlers after 17 years can apparently wear and can began to freeze up...

    The Engine blows finally!!!

Thank you^^^ I honestly forgot the Timing belt had it's own idlers too. Of course it does and this makes complete sense now.. My mechanic did seem to think there is a reason the timing belt broke and he did tell me it's probably not just from normal wear out. This makes total sense now...

    The Engine blows finally!!!

I'm curious as to why you would think an Idler pulley froze up with my situation? Am I missing something here? If so wouldn't that just break the serpentine belt and or cause it slip and smoke against the frozen pulley? Wouldn't the engine still run for a short time and or want to crank and fire...

^^^^ Your stab is absolutely correct Super runner. I thought just maybe that was the case too but wasn't sure and that's why I started this thread to begin with.. Bad news for everyone whom wanted a piece of this car, good news for me... The timing belt did break. However, with this motor...

    The Engine blows finally!!!

Still waiting on the mechanic verdict, it's in the shop now.. Should know soon.. Please don't count on anything too much.. I don't want to dissapoint.. However, like I said it depends on the condition of the motor at this point. From what I can tell it didn't sound very good at all and I think...

    The Engine blows finally!!!

Thanks man... Finding a used 1uz-fe motor in the city of Los Angeles, Ca. is not a problem but I'm not going in that direction, don't have the work area and or the time right now to swap engines out. I've decided to Tow it into a my mechanic this morning for a quick look over and full...

    The Engine blows finally!!!

It doesn't frusterate me really but it is an inconvenience. Bad timing more then anything, but I do have a good mechanic myself if I feel it can be repaired without a rebuild and I can't do it.. I can do alot of the stuff on my own if I actually take the time and do it, but I don't really have...

    The Engine blows finally!!!

The motor has 180,000 miles on it, it ran good that's what I don't understand.. It just failed...Tranny has 300,000 miles and barely works but does., Supra LSD 150,000 miles, good stereo system with 1000 watt amp too.. Everything else is close to new and restored.. No body damage or dings...

I may just spent the entire day tomorrow removing all my high performance parts and leaving a shell behind... Then either sell the parts or merge them with a newer SC.. How do you get rid of shell a car with just a broken engine and tranny in it? I gotta figure that one out.. Wheels missing...

    The Engine blows finally!!!

It's been three years since I have wrenched on this car. I guess I need the best ways to check if the fuel is being delivered to the motor, and or if the timing belt snapped. Can any one help me on the best and fastest ways to check this stuff?
