    Volvo Amazon + Lexus SC400 = ???

Nice work... Always wanted to do the same with a 64' Rambler on a Supra, but too many projects! Now, I'd just be happy to get my 91' LS running after swapping in a 99' GS engine, trans and wiring....

Non Pwr Steering or AC Belt Setup?

PS, belt is 305K6 (30.5" I think). I had to mill the idler bracket the thickness of the little bracket I used to get some belt adjustment.

Non Pwr Steering or AC Belt Setup?

I don't like unnecessary stuff. You could just remove the parts in the way, but to keep the resultant holes plugged, I just cut down the existing parts. Probably next time I'll just 3d print some covers instead and save some more weight and look cleaner yet...

    1UZ 4Runner - clutch MC problem

Why not just put a Tilton MC in? High quality, and cheap.. Can get all kinds of bore stroke combo's, attached and remote reservoirs... Least that's what I used back in the day.

Help! Fried front hub, can't find replacement..

I finally got one.. thanks for feedback... BTW, Lex bearings are not "adjustable" they are a pressed in cartridge. My lex is an endurance racer, and we indeed ate a hub.. The LF really takes a beating and after 4 years of racing and 250k street miles, it gave up...

New to the Lexus V8 Scene

I'm just finishing a 1UZ to 1UZ swap ;) - its a 99'GS400 driveline into a 91LS400... it turned out to be about as much work as a real swap!

Help! Fried front hub, can't find replacement..

Any ideas? I'm racing my 1991 LS400, so don't want to use junkyard parts... Having trouble finding on online.

DO NOT take cheap cross drilled rotors to the track!!

Brand name aren't any better. Don't use thin, drilled rotors is the lesson. Slotting is ok. Neither is needed with proper brake pads, but look cooler. Brake pads matter MUCH more than any rotor. I've put three 24hr enduro races on a pair of rotors I paid $7 Shipped! (and have had toyota rotors...

DO NOT take cheap cross drilled rotors to the track!!

lol.. that's drilled rotors for you. You don't need drilled or slotted; that's mostly for show (slotted better as there's less stress concentration). The rears are thin too, so crack more easily. I put on some serious race miles and don't have any problem with the fronts; just run plain ones in...

1UZ VVTi hits a "wall" at around 4.5krpm

What MAF housing is that? I cut up my stock airbox to do essentially the same thing, but would like to know if there is another option....

Which is the pressure side of the trans pump?

I've got a 91LS400 (not running at the moment to 99 GS400 engine swap in progress) and looking down from the engine compartment, there are two trans cooler lines. One that comes straight forward and one that goes off at an angle. Which is the pressure side? Since I can't start it right now, I'm...

Do I need a rear waterbridge.

Although your logic is faulty (I've modified a ton of stuff to not suffer the compromises an OEM has to consider) I looked closer at the plumbing and indeed the heater circuit is independent. On my 4cyl cars, its no problem to block off the path to the heater, but as you say, might be prudent to...

Do I need a rear waterbridge.

I was thinking of ditching it too. for now, I just run a hose from one side to the other, but would rather get rid of it completely. When your heater is off, there is no flow between them anyway? If so, then blocking them off is no different than having your heater off.

    1991LS vs 1998GS ABS?

This is a race car. I'll use the cluster from the GS... just curious if the wheel speed sensors and number of reluctor teeth are the same If I lose ABS, it won't be the death of me, but its nice to have.

    1991LS vs 1998GS ABS?

So, I'm doing a 1998 GS400 driveline and wiring transplant into my 1991 LS400. Since it would take me forever to do otherwise, I'm swapping over most of the 1998 wiring harness, but not 100% sure if the ABS pickups (number of teeth) is the same between the old and the new. I'll be using the 1998...

Timing belt tensioner.... Is it supposed to not move?

Yep, washer is there and matches the picture.. When I tighten the bolt, the pivot doesn't pivot. I've got the tension set right as mentioned, but not sure how much the belt will stretch over time... I guess I shouldn't care too much... not going to drive it 100k.. maybe 10k over its remaining...

Timing belt tensioner.... Is it supposed to not move?

So, doing the timing belt replacement, I notice when I tighten down the allen head bolt on the timing belt tensioner pulley, it doesn't move. Shouldn't it be free to pivot? I left it a little lose, pulled the pin on the tensioner, cranked it around several times to make sure the timing was on...
