    1UR Engine

One of the Lexus engineers said the roller rocker design was to reduce friction and maintenance. I was going to pick his brain about the different valve timing, but we ran out of time because of a discussion about fuel economy, octane, and hybrids.

    Nasty Waterpump

There's no need to apply any sealer to the pump or engine block. Just clean the surfaces and install a new gasket. See the black areas on the gasket? That's basically a rubber sealant.

Valve Spring Removal Tool On Engine !

Something like this? Matco and Snapon sell them,I'm sure it's available somewhere else for a lot less (probably OTC brand) I like ozvenom's custom tool,2 valvesprings at a time.

    EGR Pipe

You do have to drop the trans. Newer ones don't require trans removal because there is no EGR :happysad:

Single 3" exhaust - I need good quite muffler

Use the biggest (case-wise) muffler you can fit under there, plus a resonator or two. Bigger case = more attenuation.

Changing Headgaskets Without Removing the Heads

I think it's a bad idea. Do it right, pull the heads off and inspect.

Lextremer in Super Street magazine - congrats Bigdaddeywalt!

My roomate subscribes to the magazine,I don't pay much attention to it until the front cover mentioned a V8 Corolla. Your car (and Rhys Millen's Solstice) added some class to a usually crappy magazine To refresh everyones' memories, you can find photos of the car on this thread...

    its my CAR!!!

Some countries have different lighting regulations than others. Beam patterns are different between RHD and LHD vehicles too.

    MSD is dead

I believe heat is the main killer of MSD ignitions. Mount them as far away from heat sources (or an area where it gets some airflow) and they'll work great. I've had a lot more problems with Crane ignitions than MSD...had a shelf full of burnt out HI-6's (do the still make them?)

    Toyota 5.7 Liters V8

It's still dual (and overhead) cam per head. The only similarities it has to the Nascar engine are lifters and a timing chain (unless the nascar v8 has a belt drive). What makes a single cam more mod friendly than a dual cam setup? I like being able to adjust intake and exhaust cam timing...

    Gas MIG Welding

Dave, google shows " 1 (cubic feet) per hour = 0.471947443 liters per minute " I tried a Henrob/Cobra before to "TIG" some mild steel pieces. The torch felt a little clumsy to me compared to a TIG torch,if I spent more time with it I'm sure I'd get used to it (other people wanted to give it a...

    anyone ever dropped thier tranny?

Soak the transmission cooler line fittings with penetrant, those things are a SOB to loosen up at times, especially older vehicles. Change the rear main seal while you have the trans out. If the EGR tube is leaking, now is the perfect time to replace it.

Fuel Supply for 5.3 Liter with 11:1 Compression

With the larger 255,it can feed a turbocharged 2.0 liter engine that makes over 500hp at the drive wheels. I built the engine and watched it dyno.

    anyone ever dropped thier tranny?

Do you mean remove the trans and TC together? The answer would be yes.

    Toyota 5.7 Liters V8

It'll be different. This underhood pic of the '07 Tundra: Valve cover looks nothing like a UZ series, looks very similar to Lexus' chain-driven V6.

2UZFE with 1UZFE HEADS DRAG CAR

If NHRA didn't ban V8's in their Sport Compact division,Venom would've been running a very similar setup years ago in their drag Tundra. They were building a 2UZ with a big-ole blower, running on alky. Come to think of it,I wonder if this is Venom's setup, they sold off a lot of their parts when...

    Electric Powered

ChrisV how much did it cost to convert the Festiva to full-electric,and how long does it take to charge the batteries? Interesting project. You can buy those cars for almost nothing. NJ has no tax cuts or any other special offers for hybrid owners, which is a bit ironic since one of our former...
