    V8TT Supra Project Diary

Hey Lex, I wasn't talking about the SSAutoChrome or XS Power turbochargers. There are a couple on there that are Turbonetics and Garrett that look pretty promising. Here's one that I looked at: Turbonetic GT35R spec turbo. I understand the rest of your post, as some of that stuff I wouldn't...

    V8TT Supra Project Diary

Thanks Lex. I hope it will be an awesome setup. I've done a lot of research and this seems to be the best way to go for me. I have seen some GT35R style Ball Bearing t3/t04S combos on eBay going for cheap right now, so that's might be where I'm headed, especially if I can get them for the...

    V8TT Supra Project Diary

I 100% understand your reasoning, but fortunately for me, my total is closer to $10K than $20K. So it makes even more sense to go with the billet cams I guess...those decisions will be made all in due time. Actually, with the headwork that I'm doing to make the engine much more efficient, it...

    V8TT Supra Project Diary

Also of note, there will be quite a few things for sale. PM me or send me an email ([email protected]) if you need something and I'll see if I can accomodate you. Now, Day 1 progress report. I spent about 2 hours on it today, just removing some stuff. I'm progressing pretty slow. Just...

    V8TT Supra Project Diary

And so it begins... Hello everyone. The project finally began after quite a long time of research and discovery. The goal is to put a 1UZ-FE with 2 turbos into a MKIV Supra shell. The shell hasn't been bought yet, but I figure I need to at least get the engine going and I can find a shell at a...

    New Intake Plenum

Hurry up and get it on the bench!!! Will I be able to get one that I can mount a different throttle body on?

    Ferrari Sound

I guess the question is, how much quicker? This is what I'm faced with so far: 4-2-1: Easier to design takes up less space more low-end power Slightly quieter THE SOUND! 4-1 more top end better scavaging most optimum setup THE SOUND! All this on a 4.0L V8 making...

    Ferrari Sound

I've seen that before, but I never really read it all the way...awesome article...now that I've read it, I'm definitely going to do it.

    Ferrari Sound

That's what I keep hearing... Well, I guess I should just do it and see how it turns out. I'm sure that by the time I get it done and if I don't like it, there might be some turbo manifolds made by then, LOL. Good talking to you all. Chris.

So you're saying that the 4-2-1 would probably be quieter than the 4-1? I suppose I can do 4-1. I wouldn't mind the quietness, because most of that will be negated once the go pedal is on the floor and both turbos are spooled...hehe. I also wouldn't mind the quietness because this is a street...

    Ferrari Sound

Alright, another question. When making this 180 degree exhaust, is it more benificial to route them outer from one side to inner on other side into 4-1 collector, or can I route them into a 2-1 on one side, 2-1 on the other (let's say for the inners), then route them together into another 2-1...

    Ferrari Sound

Ok, what about changing the firing order...now I know this might sound like a long shot, couldn't you change the firing order to match something similar to a ferrari's? For instance, get your cams reground, and instead of getting them in the same order, have a couple of them moved around to...

    Custom Flywheel

Can anyone tell me where to find a place that can do a custom flywheel? I'm just trying to find a place that could make me a flywheel to suit the V160/adaptor/1UZ combination. I've already got a clutch I'm interested in. Please let me know what you guys have. Thanks. Chris.

    Compound Turbo

If you're interested in a long, technical read on this subject, you might want to read this: http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=166688 Might have to have a username and password to view, but it's very extensive and technical as far as how things could work. I will warn you...

Although I can see the obvious benefit for turbocharged applications, it would probably be safe to say that it would be pretty complicated to route the piping to the front of the engine bay in an efficient way to make this happen, correct? There's an obvious benefit in this for an N/A or...

Project Thread SC470TT (VVTi) Twin Turbo Lexus SC400 with 4.7L Toyota Tundra Engine

Your goals are similar to mine. I will run 18psi daily on 93 octane. I will up the boost for dyno runs on race gas, maybe 30psi. GT35R was my first pick as well, but couldn't justify the price. Maybe at a later date when I want to completely optimise the car.

Project Thread SC470TT (VVTi) Twin Turbo Lexus SC400 with 4.7L Toyota Tundra Engine

Man, you're really patient to weld those things up. I suck at welding, so that kind of project is a no go for me. I'm going to jimmy up some block hugger headers and add an extension to them so that I can put the turbos where I need in the engine bay. And what's funny is that you're using...
