    Rotrex Supercharger?

My mistake. The actual recommended maximum impeller speed is 90,000rpm, not 100,000rpm, for the C38-61. That means the unit is at the maximum recommended speed at 7000 engine RPM with your 120mm/70mm pulley ratio. If you want to slow it down, you need to go with a larger supercharger pulley or...

Stumped on what Turbo's to use!

I got my hands on a GT45 compressor map yesterday, and it is a damn good match for making 1000 hp with a 4L 1UZFE. Just a heads up. -Kirk

    Rotrex Supercharger?

Pretty much. If you want to get it at a better spot on the map, you've got to either get the mass flow up or the PR down. Unfortunately you're right at the speed limit of the supercharger, so you don't have much you do to play around with that. VE% improvements can help, but only go so far. All...

    Rotrex Supercharger?

The 30-94 is a smaller model Rotrex supercharger. It's probably best to stick with what you have, but you need to work to get the PR's down and/or mass flows up so you're not sitting on the surge line. Like I said before, the easiest way to do that is to make the engine's displacement larger...

    Rotrex Supercharger?

Yeesh. That thing is sitting right on the surge line. I mean RIGHT on the surge line. The 30-94 is a slightly better match if you overspeed it a tiny bit. Either that, or you could port the compressor housing. The other semi-easy fix is to bump up the displacement so the pressure ratios don't...

    Super charger in California

You probably wont even pass the visual check unless you get a really dumb worker. Pretty much the only way to get it done is to find a shady shop in your area (which shouldn't be all that hard in Stockton). You could also do what most every Honda kid does... take it off, go through smog, put it...

Stumped on what Turbo's to use!

Ha ha. Just kidding. I ****** up. :sorry: I was looking at an 118mm diesel wheel, not the 133mm Garrett aftermarket offering for the GT5533. If you did a choke side overspeed on a GT4202R you might be able so squeak out the 1000, but certainly into the 900s. I appologize and retract my previous...

Stumped on what Turbo's to use!

Like I said, twin GT3582Rs with some nitrous would make the 1000hp, and you might even be able to package it! Actually, if you were to use a 200 shot of nitrous, then I'd go with the twin GT3076Rs like I said before. -Kirk

Stumped on what Turbo's to use!

    I just looked up the GT5518 maps... and it's basically perfect for making 1000hp with the 4.7L. You'll need approximately 110 lb/min (.813kg/sec) @ a PR of ~3.5 (~37psi). The quick match was using the following parameters: Hp 1000 A/F 12 BSFC 0.55 hp/(lb*hr) Wa 110.00 lb/min (0.8316kg/sec)...

Stumped on what Turbo's to use!

Well, what I said was I think the GT3076R is probably a better choice for the power goals that he listed. As for your goals, Lextreme, the GT3582R will just barely get you where you want to go. Two GT4088Rs may even be necessary, but still don't necessarily match that well either. The problem...

    Rotrex Supercharger?

The Rotrexes are downright tiny compared to a Vortech, Paxton, or Whipple. All the "gearing" is done axially, so there isnt the big gearbox on the side of the unit. It would be relatively easy to package two of the Rotrexes in an engine bay instead of one larger blower. -Kirk

    centrifigually supercharged?

Of course, the more people that buy them, the cheaper they will become. Most of the problem is they're manufactured in Denmark. Unfortunately because of our importation policies, they end up being very expensive compared to a similarly sized turbo. Actually, the larger frame sizes aren't all...

    centrifigually supercharged?

Check out the superchargers at http://www.calisuperbikes.com/index_files/Page1651.htm. These are fantastic supercharger units! They are dead silent (no gear whine!) and very compact. They are also more efficient than the older Whipple and Vortec style compressors. I think the Rotrexes use older...

Stumped on what Turbo's to use!

Two GT3076Rs would be a great match for your power goals. Depending on how high you spin the motor (my quick calculation used 7000rpm), you can get 800hp (~44lb/min) out of two GT3076R's with between 2.8-3.2 pressure ratio (~27psi to ~32psi) on the compressor. This does not account for losses in...

    Service Manual Scans?

Does anyone have a scanned copy of the 1uzfe service manuals? I'm assuming there is a base manual with additional manuals for each year. Is this correct? I've got a '96 1uzfe if that helps at all. If nobody has a manual scanned, how much will one cost from Lexus/Toyota? Are there any...
