    8 Throttle Body Intake

If you dont have vacuum assisted brakes or PS then I guess you wouldn't need a vacuum tank at all. What vehicle are we talking about here?. It's been a few decades since vehicles had no vacuum braking or is this a racecar of some sort?

    Header flanges and gaskets

Has your laser cutter attempted to cut copper before. I ask this because I tried to get head gaskets cut but found out that my friend's lasercutter wouldn't cut copper. Some problem with reflection. Was recommended to use water cutting instead. Haven't done that yet but there was a mob in Perth...

    UZ1 w/ A350

Good luck. Unless you're planning to use an aftermarket transmission controller you're out of luck. The transmission may bolt in easily to the motor but controlling the tranny will be a nightmare without a proper controller. I've seen programmble controllers available in the states to suit this...

    Igniters Source??

V6 4Runners (VZN130 early 90's) use the same igniter, although the V6 only uses one of them. Should be easy to find. Quite a few other Toyota's use the same igniter ST185 GT4 Celica SW20 MR2 Some Corollas

Motor Mounting Theory? How do you place a motor correctly?

I've being mounting a 1UZ in a MX83 over the last few weeks. I didn't have much room so it has fit where it will fit. I have about 5-10mm clearance from the rear of the sump to the steering rack/crossmember. About 10mm clearnace to the bonnet at both the intake plenum and the throttle body...

    Header flange and parts source

For us Aussie enthusiasts, I've bought a complete header kit my 1UZ from this lot in the eastern states. www.castleauto.com.au This kit has: the flanges, 10 180 degree bends, the collectors, reducers, flanges and gaskets. All in Mild Steel. My plan is to HPC coat them when finished. Was $350...

    UZZ31 Tranny code 46

Have you checked the continuity of the solenoids? S1 and S2 are both connected to ground internally and use one pin each one the 6 pin connector. S3 and S4 are isolated from everything else and use 2 pins each on the 6 pin connector. The resistance of the on/off S1/S2 solenoids are different...

    Air/Fuel Ratio for 1UZ?

Lambda is a ratio of the wanted A/F(Stoichiometric point) ratio, in our case 14.7 ie Lambda 0.8 is 14.7 x 0.8 or an A/F ratio of 11.76 to 1.

    Big Block

The "Big Block: term refers to the block's physical size not really it's displacement, though the two are obviously related - mostly but not always. In fact 350 chevs are small blocks compared to their larger (427,454) cousins and a 400 chev comes in either flavours, boths small and big blocks...

    Gulp

I've also heard the LS2 may come as early as VZ II next year also with the new premium 6 speed auto. If this is so, then this make 6M or 5A on the V6 range and 6M and 6A in the V8 range. That is even scarier!!! The new LS2 Monaro*cough*sorry GTO specs have the auto version quicker to 60mph than...

    lock up torque converters

The transmissions's input shaft is hollow, hence a path for oil to travel.

Verifying auto trans types and uses.

Yep, drilled and tapped the new hole tonight at work, came up a treat. Had a good look at the rotor. It looks, like you said, to be a simple machining job. I'm tackling that tonight. Main Transmission is all back togethor, waitng for the transfer to be bolted on once a get the SS sorted...

Verifying auto trans types and uses.

Excellent article, cheers. Simple mods. Not much involved apart from new clutch plates and steels. Now that I've seen this I might pickup myself another Soarer box(as nobody wants these and they're dirt cheap) and have a play myself. As for the speed sensor's 4 prong rotor, I'm think of...

Verifying auto trans types and uses.

I certainly could have done that. I just thought I'd try to do it properly plus actually learn how the auto worked. I've never ripped one apart before. Did I bit more more today. Got the shaft in, 100% compatible between the two. Only took 15 minutes to get it out this time. Putting the...

How stronge are the R150F gearbox

As far as I know, they are much the same box except the the 150 has the lower first gear which you would want for a 4WD, with the 151 having an even the lower first and the 154 having the tallest ie to suit a car or big engined 4WD like the 78/9 series TD Cruiser which has the 154 aswell.

More updates. Find this site http://www.supras.nl/view.php?page=modsTransmission2JZMA7.htm Ripping the transmission apart doesn't look all that hard. Might give it go myself. Got a few quotes today from some auto mobs. $300-$400 in labour+ new seals?. Been sussing out the Speed sensor...

Verifying auto trans types and uses.

Certainly has. I pulled out my meter and checked the pinouts of both transmissions. So I guess my Surf box must have the TC lockup but not the line pressure adjustment. My transfer box is physically different to yours and doesn't have the hydrualically operated low range. I wonder why they put...

Verifying auto trans types and uses.

Greetings all. Just hoping to get some more knowledge of the various Toyo transmissions and what is their operation, for my project. Currently, in my garage, I have a 92 1UZ from a Soarer a.k.a. SC400. The engine was removed from a wreck along with it's transmission, A341E / A30-41LE. It's...
