Is this one of the turbo engines? You have to remember, the 1UZ was designed as a naturally aspirated engine. It's much easier to push high horsepower levels out of turbocharged engines (I've seen 500+ on stock 4g63's... 2.0L 4-cylinder). That's the only real downfall of the 1UZ internals...

How do you figure? If the plenum is before the throttle bodies, it won't ever see vacuum. The easiest way to deal with the vacuum situation, and it's really not that hard, is to just tap a source off of each runner, to a separate container. Then you could even mount the MAP right off of that...

It looks to me from that head picture that the limiting factor for valve sizing is going to be the gap between the valve and the spark plug. It doesn't look like there's a whole lot of room there... of course, with a 1mm oversize valve, you're only getting .5mm closer to the plug... Should be...

I'd like to see this happen. The reason is that the Nismo SR20 sequential 6-speed box is fairly inexpensive... a bit over 3 grand. It'd be nice to be able to hook that to a 1uz!

Hmmm... that's a good idea. I like the fact that the centrifugal does not have to take up a bunch of room on top of the intake manifold. I am sure I would also enjoy the powerband too. :) Now I just have to decide whether or not I want to go N/A or centrifugal SC.

I do like the fact that the port is about horizontal... it would eliminate canting the ITB's towards the middle in an NA setup.

What's with the cam lobe width? Looks like the base circle is tiny.

Well see that's the problem with the Mistubishi oil squirters. They get stuck open and then the already low pressure at idle gets even lower and starts hurting bearings. Those squirters look pretty nice. A lot better than the Mitsu squirters.
