Hello, new here to Lextreme. A few FI questions.

Now... whether it would be a good IDEA or not on the rods and the trans that is another question altogether.

Hello, new here to Lextreme. A few FI questions.

Justen, why do you feel that a stock 1998-2000 GS400 would make only 200whp? The engine is rated 300hp @ 6000rpm 310tq @ 4000rpm. In a 3700 pound car that the factory rated at 5.7 seconds to 60mph. I actually did better than that with my heavier LS400 which has the same engine/trans/diff...

    13 second E85 naturally aspirated 1UZ build

Once you have spent the countless millions and countless man hours you will come to the same conclusion that BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, Bugatti, Pagani and almost every other manufacturer sans Lambo and Ferrari... That turbocharging IS for YOU!!! You can have your power and your green with...

    13 second E85 naturally aspirated 1UZ build

I say go ahead and start modding your car one area at a time and you will learn a great deal. We could explain that you will find it unlikely to meet your goals but you will gain an understanding and from that point be able to decide on your next steps. BTW, the ECU's in these cars have a...

Hello, new here to Lextreme. A few FI questions.

With the aging of the 1uz/3uz platforms this forum is not too active but there are still many guys here that will show up with some real hands on info. It will be cool to see you put that SRT supercharger back into service. I wish it was easier to adapt and tune the stock ECU and also...

Hello, new here to Lextreme. A few FI questions.

Hey Rock, surprised it took you so long to wind up over here! Some really sharp performance guys on here for sure. For those unfamiliar with Rock he has maybe the highest WHP GS400 running a mostly stock set up. By that I mean no FI or nitrous or headwork or cam mods. Stock engine with...

Which 3uz Manifolds For MK2 Swap?

The 1998-2000 LS400, GS400 and SC400 (1UZ-FE VVTi) have different exhaust manifolds. The LS and GS are very similar quasi Tri-y manifolds where the SC is a log. The 2001-2006 LS430, GS430 and SC400 (3UZ-FE VVTi) have the same exhaust manifolds that are log style. Pictures below are of the...

    Twin Turbo 1UZ goodness!

Outstanding. No doubt was a LONG weekend! What does it weigh with driver? What are you hoping/expecting... high to mid 7s in the 170s? Not many sub 10 second cars have such a smooth idle! Did you ever get a max number on the stock cams?

Single Turbo 1UZ MKII Supra Project

Mike, your effort represents the DREAMS of so many amateur car "crafters"... You started with a cool car, began applying your dreams and created a unique vehicle the likes of which exists no where else! Bravo! Almost anyone I can think of that started on their own building journey would see...

BOOST QUESTIONS-Stock HG and ARP Studs/Tips?

For your power goals it would seem the stock head bolts and gaskets (if healthy) should be fine. That said if you are pulling the heads and running the studs I would definitely go with MLS gaskets... cheap insurance against pulling it apart again.

    Twin Turbo 1UZ goodness!

Interesting. I take it you are running e85? Of the parts that would need replacing I am surprised you feel the need on the argo rods. Did they show signs of a problem? I am always a bit wary of going to the larger diameter head bolts as that removes material from the alloy block which could...

Looks GREAT. What changes do you make?

    Quad Turbo??

Why not build it non-sequential? Quad equal balanced small turbos. Are yours the JDM turbos? Once you get that going you can decide if you want to tackle some sort of sequential layout. Like I said, bragging rights... "yeah, got the quad turbo V8 over here!"

Throttle Body The Right Way Up??

Part throttle performance variable would likely be very low UNLESS as suggested it is an ITB set up without any plenum and you would want to direct the air to the top of the runner. With a plenum... once you go WOT it would/should not matter.

    Quad Turbo??

pajman, I clicked on this thread expecting to discourage you... instead... I like this idea for a cheap and unique 800hp capable setup. Plus, you will have bragging rights over all your buddies (unless one has a Veyron!) Packaging is the issue as the 2jz being inline has room for the...

    Project Thread Project SC400TT

Hey guys, had a chance to visit Ryan in Orlando and see his beast in person. Honestly the pictures do not do it justice. This is one beautifully executed car. Most importantly it is RUNNING and DRIVING! Definitely fast as well but it was not running up to snuff due to a mis-wired AF signal...

teardown of 1100hp+ Twin Turbo 1UZ

Agree totally. So XR8tt is that 330 cid" If so you are running the same size primaries on a 5.4 liter Ford as Forar is on his 4.0 Lexus/Toyota? Very interesting. Regarding backpressure the higher velocity (vs larger primaries) actually has lower dynamic pressure than the same mass flow...

teardown of 1100hp+ Twin Turbo 1UZ

I guess anyone wondering how much power 1.5" primaries can support on this V8 turbo? Well, at least 1200hp... And you intend to use these for your 1500hp target? Fits in with one school of thought that suggests the turbine and housing are more restrictive than the primaries so they are rarely...

teardown of 1100hp+ Twin Turbo 1UZ

Always impressed with the power you have pulled from your combo. What is the ID on those 1.5" OD turbo exhaust primaries?
