    N/A 400hp with a 6 speed

Brad, First up; Where are you located as that will influence the cost of trying to do this. 400NA isn't easy. That's a 62% increase in power from an engine that doesn't do well with N/A mods. The 6 speed won't be cheap and I would guess you would spend 10 times the value of an LS400 to get...

Toyota Soarer V8 Hydraulic fan leaking. May convert to electric fans. (Lexus SC400).

Google 1UZ fan bracket and they will turn up. If in the USA they are readily available. The pulley that goes on the idler is available from Toyota.

    Engine Failure #2; less catastrophic

Some photos of the keepers would help. Do you know if they we installed correctly?

Cover panel between rear of block and bellhousing / autobox?

There is a cover normally bolted to the transmission. Just make up an alloy panel to fill the void.

    Project Thread C10 engine swap/build

No. The sleeves are not thick enough to bore the engine to any appreciable degree. Re-sleeving was done about 10 years ago but is difficult and expensive. Search for posts by Lextreme around 2010 as he was into it then.

    Project Thread C10 engine swap/build

400-500HP is a big ask without spending heaps of ash. 700 is spending serious amounts of cash. Turbo charging will get you horsepower cheaper than supercharging but less torque and I guess torque is what you are after. A 1998 engine will need new rods straight up and forged pistons to go with...

Toyota Soarer V8 Hydraulic fan leaking. May convert to electric fans. (Lexus SC400).

I think you will find the belt wrap on the crank pulley may not be enough. It could lead to belt slip when the air is on, turning a corner and the alternator working a bit hard such as late at night in the wet. The perfect time for that to happen. it won't stop the engine or car but will...

Most reliable 1UZ (non vvti) boosting

350 at the treads is like 475 at the Flywheel. You're asking for a lot. Supercharging won't get you there without huge expense. Think intercooling, new pistons, possibly rods and stand alone ECU. Turbo would get you there reliably and for much less money. Still need intercooling but no...

    Upgraded 1UZ Head Studs

I would think the 2nd set are the ones to get. They list the DET engine and that tells me they will see more compression than a standard RB.

    Lexus ls400 spare parts

To my knowledge the ECU will swap but check the part number on the ECU. here are some odd combinations that won't work. Check the number of pins and plugs on the ECU. I would get the igniters and loom tails, air flow meter, ISC and Fuel pressure regulator.

1UZ upper oil pan crack suggestions?

Looks like an SC400 pan. It "could" be welded but I'd track down a replacement. Sorry should add and hour would swap it with time to spare.

UZFE KA24 Swap, Flywheel Help Needed

Why not apply heat to increase the centre bore a bit. That's how ring gears are fitted. I'd pop it in the oven at whatever temp is recommended for ring gears and let it sit at that temp for an hour of so and then slide it on. Personally I wouldn't use it as the mounting is suspect on a 3s-GTE...

    Full bolt-ons for 1991 LS400

M90 is too small for a 1UZ if you want more then 5psi of boost and even then the intake temps will be ugly. I ran a W2A intercooler and Meth Injection at 21psi to get my numbers and that was ater spending more on the engine than most people earn in a year. I ran an Opcon twin screw blower with...

    Hiace Brake Upgrades

If you are prepared to use a 6 stud rotor that is the size you want and then use the calliper off the same vehicle you can fit whatever you want. I have Nissan Patrol brakes on my Mitsubishi van and I just made new dogbones to mount the Nissan callipers and managed to go from tiny brakes to big...

    Full bolt-ons for 1991 LS400

400WHP is like 500 at the Flywheel. I spent an awful lot of money on an engine that put out 650WHP and don't see 400 at the wheels as achievable with supercharging. You could get it with Turbos.

    1UZFE ring/bearing rebuild

Quite often you will find it cheaper to buy another engine and do a swap rather than rebuild an engine.

No power and bad backfire under throttle

Could be a plug lead )or 2) braking down under load. These engines run quite well on 6 cylinders until you load them up.

    OBD2 position on lexus conversion

Not all 1UZ's are OBDII. Can you tell us what the came out of and the age of it. If you purchased the engine and don't know what it came out of the spark plug leads may still have the production date on them.

Alternator troubles in my 1991 LS400

13.9 Is quite acceptable. Once you drive off from a stop the voltage is more than acceptable.

    Pulley stuck?

You could remove the tensioner an tap the pulley of the shaft, leaving the bearing on the shaft. Break out the angle grinder and cut the bearing almost all the way through the inner race. it should then crack the cut and come off quite easily. The bearing is a common size and readily...
