    Toyota V12

I've also been looking at the newer 4 valve,BMW V12s, they are 6.0 I believe, and if the controlls could be sorted out, would make for a nice motor as well. These are what the Mclaren engines were based on, basically. I have seen an older 5.0 version (2 valve) installed in a Z car, was pretty...

    DOHC vs Push Rod

From my experience, bent pushrods have been a pita, and wouldn't consider that arrangement again until something else comes along that would eliminate even that possibility. I do like that over center, variable rocker shaft design, would be afraid of hammering from excess lash in the direct...

    HEADERS are FINALLY ready!!!

So which thread actually has the goods? I grew tired of reading about honda/Z06 kills.

    Oversize Valves

The V8 has a more natural tendancy to make power at higher revs than the six(vectors/firing order) the choice of valve sizes was likely just for tuning to the desired rpm range.

Normal to see cross hatch patterns in old used motor?

Chrome piston rings + low tension will give that result. I can remember the first time I saw that in a German made Opel engine.

    Oversize Valves

Not sure if you'd need to have the stems hardened after cutting/machining, but likely, and the shims can break easy if they're too thin. The base circle on the cam can't be made much smaller really, since the lift rates on the cam will be out of range for a non-roller profile.

    Total TRD package

Gotta love that motor; under-rated @ 280ps, can imagine how much it'd really make with some tuning, also how it must sound. It looks about as long as one of those Toyota sixes.:)

    F.A.S.T. ECU

I'd guess that the 5 bar range was why they used it, that's around 70 psi!

What brand Mig welding wire to buy in all 3 metals

What kind of welder did you get? I recently purchased one as well, haven't gotten the bottle yet, was told to buy a large bottle, that would save $ on refills.

    1uz with carbs

The lower to upper manifold flanges are very close to Weber DCNF, not IDA/IDF. If you're going to be using hairy camshafts, the individual runner/tb will be better on the street, I'd try a single Holley, four barrel 390cfm, if using stock cams.

    IR manfolds and adapter plates

Sounds like a great idea, you should build a prototype and see if it could be run with the factory ecu with fuel pressure adjustments only. I've thought about making a form to take down to our local foundry, but no time these days.
