Good info! As of yet, I don't even have the cooling system or alternator installed, just a battery on a bench charger. I'll move onto those items today so it can run for more than 30 seconds. Also been reading up on the ECU capacitors and I'm certain it needs those as well.

Swapped a 1UZ from a 93 sc400 into my trooper. Only been a year so far lol. Cranked it for the first time today and she runs! Very low, but smooth, idle. Fiddled with the tps some but couldn't get it sounding right. Doesn't seem to do any sort of cold start high idle either, just bumbles to...

Thought I was set but need a different oil pan. Needing a front sump pan that'll bolt to a 92 1uz, upper and lower pans. Thanks

Swapping a '92 1uz into an '89 Isuzu trooper. I read a thread on another forum where the fan pump had been successfully (?) used as a power steering pump by removing the shuttle and spring, drilling/tapping and downsizing an orifice. There were pictures mentioned but this was 15 years ago and...

I'll remove anything that won't be used as far as vacuum goes. And I have a feeling there's a few things that can be trashed. Would rather not have a bunch of plugged hoses to dry rot and leak. Won't need ac, just power steering and the alternator. Zero emissions. Still debating springing...

Oh absolutely. I'll be welding up anything to do with that for sure. Curious about all these vacuum ports as well since I really only have the brake booster to run from vacuum...

Have a 92 1UZ to swap into an Izusu trooper. I'm in Florida with zero cause to use any of the emissions stuff and I'll be using the Isuzu manual transmission. One thing that struck me when pulling the engine from the sc400 was how much crap was bolted to it! Modules here, modules for this...
