You could use the transmission setup from an older 4WD Toyota pick-up. They had W58s so it would be easy to bolt up the 1UZ as there a couple of bellhousings available. You would have to do custom driveshafts and figure out where to put the front diff. But anything is possible...
The IGf signal just tell the computer that ignition took place, if you're not getting the right signal, the computer thinks that you're not getting spark (which could be true), and it won't turn on the injectors.
So you think that you have the wrong ignitor? If that's true, how did the car run when it came out of the exhaust shop? I think you might be chasing the wrong culprit. Perhaps the excess heat in the engine compartment affected more than just the power steering lines. Just a thought.
Can someone post a picture of the circuit board for the tach in an LS400? I am putting a 1UZ into my 84 supra and I am trying to figure out how to wire the tach so it will work right. I know that MSD makes a tach adaptor, but I have heard that it is not always accurate. Any help would be...
