Hello John, I really appreciate your help. Yes of course with the shim under setup this is not a problem. The ideal would be shimless, and I know you and dave have looked into this many times before. Can you please let me know if the Echo buckets could be a good candidate?
As for a shim under...
Hello Everyone,
We have purchased some oversized intake and exhaust valves from Ferrea for the 2UZFE.
We are also running dual wind valve springs and retainers built from a custom shop here in Canada. To make things even more interesting, we will be running reground cams.
We are now...
I was just thinking the same thing. I have a 1UZFE and a ported and polished 2UZ heads, and I really wanted to through them on. No go? I'm just glad I did not start a new thread for this.
I thought I would ask this on here. We are currently working on transplanting a 2UZ into and SC400. We do not want to change the heads over. What I would like to know is, how far fetched would it be if we transfer over the vital engine harness plugs from the 2UZ harness to the 1UZ. Would the...
Sorry!
Do work with modifications. The 3S has the same ring gear however, the crank bolts are diff between the two therefore you need to weld them closed and redrill...
Hey Keith,
The 5F and 3S do work. However; I went with a modified 2J flywheel:
* Mill off the starter ring and sweat the UZ ring gear on
* Lengthen the diameter of the crank bolts.
You could use the UZ flexplate as a guide.
Hey Anodyne,
I am not too concerned about the wight. A 15KG flywheel is good for me. I would like the torque to get transferd over to the rear wheels. I will listen to what they have to say. My only concern at this point is a one piece flywheel that includes the ring gear vs. a ring gear that...
Hey Anodyne,
Thank you so much. I will be contacting A1turbos today and see what they can offer me. Do you recall how much your flywheel ways? I agree with you 10kg/22lb is ideal.
Nick
Hey Zuffen.
Thank you for your response. I am not looking to reinvent the flywheel. I am actually looking for one of those suppliers. Not to sure if I will go with a machined ring gear though. I am looking for someone who can machine a one piece flywheel.
Nick
If we can get a flywheel with provisions that accept the oem clutch, correct me if I am wrong, it could save us a lot of headaches. These flywheel guys will always offer flywheels that force us to use their clutches.... Not going there. OEM all the way! Or in this case. As much as possible!
