Hello everyone, I just thought I would check before sending my car to Lexus to find out what is happening. Since last Wednesday my celsior has had the weirdest electrical problem... Under hard acceleration the handbrake light on the dash comes on and stays on for a few seconds then goes...

could be the regulator... see if you can test the voltage from the alternator itself might be a better indication... sort of sounds something to do with the alternator/battery to me...

mate, had this happen to my celsior/ls400 a while back... it turned out to be alternator... have you had any power steering fluid/oil leak on it? because that also may be causing the problem... check the voltage charge next time those warning lights show up again... because to me it sounds...

Well, it got fixed... was a fault in the wiring harness which the auto elec caused, so he fixed that for free... but i paid $500 for a brand new alternator, inc. fitting and labour... which wasn't as bad as i was expecting for my 1uz

Had a look at the fuse, it was fine... thought ok, ill take it to an auto sparky to have a look, and didnt even make it, i lost all my electricity... Luckily the mechanic that fitted the new alternator paid to have it towed back to the workshop, and is going to fix it free of charge... got my...

I just turned the ignition on, without starting the car, its missing some of the normal warning lights you see when the ignition comes on... the battery charge light isn't there, and a few others, (cant exactly remember all of what was there), but ive only got handbrake, the oil pressure or temp...

I am having a bit of an issue with my Toyota Celsior/LS400... I had a problem the other day, i randomly got all my dash warning lights come on in my celsior, and diagnosed it was a faulty alternator, so i got that fixed. Now what is happening is that I was driving to work, and didnt seem to see...

how much would u be looking at roughly for the part and shipping to post code 4510 in qld aus?

The actual balancer/pulley itself as it's cracked... its coming apart, but its probably bringing the check engine light on it saying that its unbalanced or rotating in an irregular fashion... however i wouldn't know because i know hardly anything about the 1uzfe engine and all its fancy sensors...

CEL??? i realise now that i might be over worrying about this... i always do lol... but yeah, now the hard part is trying to find a new pulley cause i have no idea where to start looking

i hope its not gonna cost me much the slip didnt change the way the car ran, or starting... but its kinda making me worry that its damaged it in some way, but i guess you wouldn't know until u pulled the engine apart, or replaced the pulley then see if the check engine light goes away...
