could someone please point me in the right direction..

hay im new to this.and am not very familiar with auto trannys..i have the box with U1 stamped on it.. in the front cut that i bought it didnt have the gear selector with it.and there were some wires cut jst b4 where it would go..on the centre console...im jst wondering if i can use a gear...

cobber thanks for the tips.. i didnt have a chance to run it in the front cut..then engine had alread been removed..i did manage to compression test it and also test if it have oil pressure..all came up fine... and besides that the engine has never been messed with in it life..only the cam belt...

zuffin.. its a 1994 celsior.. so far i have stripped the whole front end..i have managed to take the whole loom out.. i have been trying to find the correct wiring diagram so that i can remove all the unneccary wires out of the loom..such at abs, climate control, tilt and telescopic steering...
