I put together a base map via internet research, but I changed it entirely. Honestly, I think the autofilled base map from tunerstudio (which is built around basic engine parameters designated by the user) would be plenty safe to use as a starting point. I still want to go back and consolidate...
I have been running MS3+X since December on my 1UZ. It took a lazy day to install and get it running. I installed it in parallel with the stock ECU's controlling the accessories though. Very easy and worth every penny. I bought the non-assembled version for even greater value. Considering that I...
There is nothing wrong with Megasquirt man. Don't listen to nay-sayers. It is a very competent system and no standalone can compete with its bang-for-buck. After experiencing what happens to these ECUs with age, I would never put a stock 1UZ ECU to use.
If you haven't already made this mistake then don't do it. The MA70 pedal will ruin the whole driving experience. Just get the manual Soarer clutch/brake pedal set or you'll regret it.
Any definitive wiring scheme for the factory IAC? I am still being lazy and waiting. I plan to put a new A/C compressor in soon and would like the idle up feature.
I gave up and cracked the throttle plate because of the shear number of possible combinations being too annoying for me. +1 for the exact wiring combo from anyone using MS3. I still need a valve to make my car cold start exactly like a factory tuned car instead of the low cold idle. Have been...
I would recommend running new wiring for the cam/crank signals and using shielded wire grounded through the ms3 because those are the most significant aspects of getting a reliable standalone setup. If there are any sync problems, they will most likely be caused by some kind of signal noise...
You are correct. You do not have to add anything to the circuits for crank/cam. The reason for so many grounds is that the DB37 pins can only hold a small gauge wire so a number of them are needed to safely ground all of the current running through the ecu. The ecu actually has a lot more...
Yea my heater doesn't work. I'm not sure if the ecu's two-wire coolant sensor and the cluster's coolant sensor share the same thread size, but if they do, you could remove the cluster's sensor and replace it with another two-wire unit for the megasquirt. Then you could run an output to the...
Let's see if I can answer all of these.
1.G2 is the correct cam sensor.
2.I did not and would not try to use the stock AFM because a map sensor comes with the megasquirt and all you have to do is run a vacuum hose from the manifold to the ecu.
3.You could probably run the stock injector...
Bumping this to see if anyone has a really good timing advance table for a near stock engine. Mine is home-brewed so I'd like to see something to compare it to.
