The bit was 10mm longer than the short run to the 2nd injector and 10mm short of the long run. You may not have noticed but the distance from the end of the rail to the 2nd injector is different each end of the rail.
I sliced 12mm off the long end of the rail so the bit would reach.
I fastened the rail (standing on it's end) in a milling vice under my drill press, I then drilled straight down the rail as far as the bit would go. I used oil to stop the bit gauling the alloy. I used my heavy leather welding gloves to protect me from the hot rail as I steadied it.
One tip. If doing this yourself rifle drill the rail before you drill the injector mount as it allows a better finish on the injector mount.
