Can anybody tell me if there were any Toyota 4WDs (tacoma/4runner/surf/hilux ect) built with lexus V8 as factory standard anywhere in the world
The reason is I am looking to build a production class off road truck and would like to run a V8 but need a homolagated production model to base it off
any help would be greatly appricated
Cheers

Found it, 2003+ models but....see this link.

The Land Cruiser's 4.7-liter dohc I-Force V8, 235hp 320 lb torque, is a first time 4Runner option. Debuting in the Tundra pickup in 2000, the iForce V8 has gained a reputation as one of the smoothest, most refined eight-cylinders ever to grace the engine bay of a pickup. The introduction of an all new 5-speed automatic transmission is another first for a Toyota truck.

Would that be the 3UZ-FE then??

2003-present Lexus GX470
current body style 4Runner (don't remember if it started '03 or '04)

twisty_toy94 the 4.7 is the 2UZFE. 3UZFE is a 4.3.

I own a 93 Toyota Landcruiser AWD but the stock tranny has only been tested to hold up to 400hp and that was tested using a diesel.. Better check the load capacity on these newer AWD trannies as well, that is if you plan on going all out on the engine....
