Haven't been on Lextreme for 20 months, but finally some progress to report. Have to set final position - will probable move up maybe an inch from where it is in the photos. Once that's done, I can do motor mounts and a crazy looking oil pan.

Standalone ECU AEM EMS and 1UZ-FE VVT-i WORKS but with problem

Here's a 1UZ VVTi calibration from a TT GS400 with the VVTi working and no cam/crank/stat sync'd issues. Typically, I will use 4K7 pull down resistors for the cam & crank sensor inputs. Calibration also uses LS1 output to control ACIS intake manifold valve. LMK if you have questions.

    1GZ-FE Part Numbers

1GZ-FE Part Numbers can be found at this website: [BROKEN LINK] All of the part numbers match up to the ones I have gotten from a source here at Toyota here in the US and the correctness of the photos makes it look legit. Hope this helps out!!! I am stoked that I can get parts for the...

Would I have to make a trip to LV? Ha-Ha. I just noticed your signature picture, looks awfully familiar... Thank you for the offer, but I am going to go the header route. I have a friend that's a good fabricator and he's going to give me hand with them. Other news: Compression on the...

    Project Thread Supercharged Supra

Looks to me that that alternator is dented as that plug should be round. I have had to source connectors for that alternator before but don't remember the application. Think maybe rx7 or Honda. Will pool around and see what I can figure out for you. Also, the connectors for the later model...

Standalone ECU Stock Motor in Offroad Race Truck Looking for easiest install Standalone

Easiest would be an AEM. Plugs right into a stock harness, add a MAP sensor and a pair of WB O2's and you're all set to go. No wiring nightmare. The AEM also fully controls the automatic transmission. Any other standalone and you'll most likely need a separate tranny controller.

Yea, looks like the cats were yanked for the platinum as is pretty typical now a days. I'm going to have some flanges made off the stockers to make headers in the future. Gonna run the stockers now as I'm pretty sure they will fit as is. Will let you know if I don't use the fan pulley/pump...

    Sc500

If you're not using you stock ones, I would go for them. (Gotta figure out how much shipping would be though, I have a Fed Ex account. Where are you located?) The flanges look close enough that they might just bolt up to my stock exhaust. Would love to try and see if it works as it could save...

Here's some pictures! The exhaust manifolds/headers are munched right before where the cats attached. Wish I had a set that weren't munched as I think they might even bolt to my existing 1UZ exhaust.

Good news! Picked up my 1GZ engine from JPR Motor on Saturday. I did some measurements of it vs my SC400 and it looks like the swap is going to be easier than I had intially thought. The auto tranny on the GZ is the same externally as the auto tranny in the SC so everything with it will...

    Sc500

No, I don't see it has a hijack, you haven't tried to sell insurance or the latest weight loss fad, it's all V12 so it's all good. I have done too many 2JZ VVTi's to not at least try to keep the intakes, but we will see. Ah, horizontal like a 4 sidedraft Weber intake setup for a SBC. That...

I've got an RB25DET in an S13 that has about a 1/4" (6mm) clearance in many places. As long as the mounts are stiff enough, it's no prob. Service on that car is tricky though, motor/trans has to come out to get any access to the oil pan, steering rack out, bell housing bolts etc... Got pulling...

    Sc500

Depending how much room up front there will be, considered keeping hydro fan and pump but guessing the engine will be in way anywho so I'll do some electric pusher ones, or pullers if there is room. Would make room for dry sump pump though. We'll see what happens when I get the engine, dig...

    Sc500

Yea, dry sump may have to happen if there's no room for the stock oil pump. Really wanted to avoid that though because of the plumbing, moving accessories around and finding a spot for an oil tank. But on the other hand, should be able to drop it much lower in the chassis and make a bit more...

    Sc500

Stock they are rated at 280PS or so, which I am hoping may be a little underrated as it's right at the max value most JP manufacturers will publish. Also, looks like I'm going to have to make a custom oil pan and sump setup so it will clear my cross member as the SC's are mid/rear sump and...

    Sc500

Yes, there is just something about V12 engines. I've never owned a car with one so that's one of the big reasons I am doing this. Secondly, having 12 connecting rods and pistons means the stress on the engine is spread over more parts so it should be more reliable overall at the same power...

    Sc500

After much thought on what to do with my SC400 engine-wise, I have decided to pull the trigger on a 1GZ-FE to make an SC500. Jimmy at JPR Motor Inc. recently had a 1GZ in stock but by the time I decided to go for it, he had sold it about week earlier. (I bought a RX7 Turbo II swap a few years...

what is needed for a low mount turbo?

Very cool that your brother has made you a DBW controller for you. Seeing the nice (i.e. $$$) four channel color scope make me feel better that it looks like he knows what he's doing. I hope you don't run into a "Floor Mat" incident with it. I have experience designing and programming DBW...

    AEM V1.19 Cal File

Inside the AEM ECU, you will find a 100 pin connector that is in between the main board and adapter board. At that connector, every single one of the AEM's inputs and outputs are available there. Some cutting and soldering will allow you to get extra I/O to the outside world. (This pinout is the...

Standalone ECU AEM Injector and Ignition Tooth Values Explained

Yes, zero is an important number and mathematics would be very limited without it. (Thanks India) Anybody that has spent time programming timers or counters will understand right away but to a layperson without that specific experience, it may seem a little odd if you start counting at zero as...
