    Low idle/dies after startup

Does anybody have an ISC(idle speed control) motor they want to sell me? I feel I have eliminated every other possibility except the ecu. Thanks Frank

    98 LS400 engine failure at 68000

The situation you describe is very likely to be a soft carbon build-up that is holding the valves slightly open. This was caused by the multiple cold starts with no warm up. This will also cause the ticking noise. It will also cause a strange cranking due to low/uneven compression. There are 2...

    Low idle/dies after startup

Thanks for the reply. I do not have the tools to check the data stream. I will look carefully at the things you have suggested and report back. Frank

    Low idle/dies after startup

Hello all I have a 93 4runner with a 91 ls400 installed. It has the auto trans. The problem I am having is I have little to no fast idle during cold start. Also, on a warm restart, the engine fires and dies. During either scenario, if I hold the throttle open slightly, it starts and runs fine...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

16 or 14 gauge for most circuits. 18 gauge would work, but I feel you will have better results with 16 or 14 gauge. The bell housing bolts are the correct spot for the engine stand bolts. As far as tools, best answer is bring all your metric stuff. If you don't bring it, you will need it;)...

    1UZFE/2UZFE into a 2nd Gen 4Runner (U.S.)

Hey Cebby Is there a hole drilled thru the side of the coupler? Doesn't the stock a340f coupler have a small hole in the side of the coupler? I ended up installing the a340f output shaft in my otherwise stock a341E. It is now ready to install in the 4runner. I have not made any other...

The following is quoted from the 1991 Lexus ls400 svc manual: "Hydraulic Control System The hydraulic control system is composed of the oil pump, the valve body, the solenoid valves, the accumulators, the clutches and brakes, as well as the fluid passages which connect all of these...

Yes, the radiator is in stock location. I am not sure if I will use the stock radiator or not. I am staying IFS for now also. I have an a340f from a 97 4runner in my shed. I am still trying to get an a341E. I want to go with a single case and 4.7 gears. Frank

The oil sump is resting full wieght on the steering linkage in the pic. The clearance at the rear of the right cylinder head is about 1/2 - 3/4". Due to the brake booster clearance, I think I will have to run a 1" body lift to get my steering linkage clearance. Both of the exhaust manifold...

I plan to use the lexus accessories. I will also be retaining a/c. I have made a lot of progress on the wiring schematics as far as identifying/confirming pinouts on the body connectors from the lexus harness. As you get closer, if I can be of any help, do not hesitate to ask. Frank
