    wrecked 2002 GS430 For project

LOL if you get some good buffing compound I think most of it should. Except for the dent my head made to the headliner on the inside.

    wrecked 2002 GS430 For project

Hi guys, I have a GS430 that I bought, and 3 months later I was hit on the side and pushed into a ditch. The car flipped. I was Hurt more then I originally thought I was. I purchased the car back from the insurance company because I knew at the time that the car started. I planned to try and...

Looking to go turbo and have tuning questions

Hey Maynanator, Sorry It looks like everybody has been staying away from this. I'm not the best person to answer your post but I thought I would at least try and respond. 1)I don't think so. Not with in reason. I'm sure enought money can buy anything, but I may be wrong. I'm not sure...

3UZ: How feasible is it to run the factory ECU WITHOUT the factory transmission?

Hi BDG, I have a 1UZ which I have converted to a manual. I'm still running the factory ECU. It wasn't very difficult, but I did it a long time ago, and it's not a 3UZ. I don't remember everything I did. I do still have the transmission selector zip tied up under the car, and if I remember...

Time to get serious (supercharged SC400)

Hey KC, you gotta update us. One thing I did want to post if that I used Pauter rods, and they were for the 2UZ 4.7L the bore is larger for the 4.7, and the small end of the rod is larger to make the rod as strong as it can be. It is too large for the 4.0L 1UZ. You can assemble them, and...

    Stock ECU closed loop defeat?

The spark plug defoulers get screwed together, but first you have to drill out the bottom of them. The O2 wont fit in it unless you drill the hole in the bottom larger. You screw the 2 of them together (After one is drilled out) you screw the O2 into the defoulers, and you screw the whole unit...

    Head gasket re-use

The non VVT 1UZ, or the early 1UZ uses a composite headgasket. It is not a MLS Metal gasket. You can use the later MLS, 98 and later gaskets on the early non VVT motors. I don't know why you would want to use the early composite HG on a later motors, but Justen is correct, and they...

    Stock ECU closed loop defeat?

This is what the sparkplug defoulers look like. they are in the help section at your local parts store, or you can find cool looking ones on Ebay. http://www.wrxtuners.com/forums/attachments/f72/3871d1238179485-where-can-i-get-oxygen-sensor-dummys-img1345cq3.jpg

    Stock ECU closed loop defeat?

You can purchase 2 spark plug DeFoulers. You need to drill a hole in one of them so the O2 can fit through it, and then screw it into the O2 bung hole in the exhaust. Actually you would need 4 (2 for each side) the ECU wants to see the rear O2's react slower then the from O2's doing this...

    Project Thread 1uzte or 2jz

If you are comparing a stock internal 1UZ vs a stock Internal 2jz-"GTE" the internals on the 2jz-"GTE" can handle a lot more. but cost in the US is probably $250-300 for a used 1uz to $3000-3500 for a 2jz-"GTE" I keep saying "GTE because the "GE" does not have the forged connecting rods...

    3uz pistons in 1uz

The 3uz has a larger bore then a 1uz. The 98+ 1uz piston will fit in the block as the bore is the same, but the combustion chamber from the early head to the later head is different. I think the CC's go up in the later heads so just swaping out pistons will probably drop the compression, but I...

    Looking inside a 1UZ ecu

Gotcha, Thanks George. I got real excited for a hot minute. Its still pretty exciting stuff. I know I can control the timing with a couple MSD programing timing controllers, and a couple 6AL boxes but the cost for 2 sets get to be expensive. So far I haven't had any issues while I'm adding the...

    Newbie with 60 series lc

Welcome Dave Can you tell us alittle more about your project. What kinds of problems did you have to overcome when putting the Toyota V8 in the Land Cruiser? Which motor did you swap? 1uz? 2uz?

    Looking inside a 1UZ ecu

Hey George, what if you are looking to modify the timing maps on a 1UZ ecu? Is this possible. The majority of what is being talked about on the previous thread is a little over my head. I'm having trouble following it. I have a boosted 1UZ using a stock ECU, and adding additional fuel through a...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

LOL yeah it was impressive getting the car back on the trailer with a locked rear-end, and slicks. I'm actually impressed with the # of hard launches I did get with the Torsen. I thought it was going to come apart way before that.

    Acetone .....

I have used Toluene, and Xylene as an octane booster. They are 2 additives that are commonly found in race gas, and in injector cleaner. The IRL was using them almost very high percentages 80-90% Do some research on the net...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

I do have a couple updates. The car hit a new best of 11.01 @ 128MPH and a best trap speed of 133mph. I was slightly bummed that I couldn't get an 10. (So close) I ended up breaking the TT Supra auto diff. Pics of the broken diff. Then we decided that the car needed...
