yes it is ..... spill the beans!

just bought a 98 ls400 and working my way through it bit by bit... the only issue I have that I cant work out is a fast ticking noise from the very top rear of the block. It seems constant in volume and tone regardless of revs or engine temp, and almost central. would appreciate any ideas...
