Just picked up a first-gen 2001 Sequoia. It's tight as a drum. Literally the only thing that's bugging me is a distinct lifter clicking sound. Is this normal for these engines?

I just got a first-gen Toyota Sequoia at an excellent price. Will try to be somewhat of a resource on the forums for that from now on. Transmission and 4.7 V8 seem like they're barely broken in at 133,000 miles. First two tasks are to do a simple airbox mod as seen here...

Where were you in SoCal? I lived in Venice, Santa Monica and then Temecula & Murrieta for 15+ years. Still miss a lot about California, just not sooooo many people. The weather is Temecula must be the best in the world though.

Changing oil that has the same, exact viscosity as what you're putting in makes no sense at all to me. I check synthetic at 25,000 miles and if it's fine, I let it go even longer. Why change it when it's perfectly fine, other than to cooperate with fear-mongering from the stealership?
