I agree with justen you get what you pay for. Also the better (more expensive) controllers have better shoftware and are easier and cheaper to get running smothly. so they might not be that much more in the long run.

It is a good idea. you should not need a electric fan a cooler will be an improvement on it's own. but if it doesn't get a lot of air flow. AS the temp of oil is greater than the coolant they can remove heat energey very efficently for the size and reduce heat load on radiator.

get a bit of radiator hose run the inlet to the outlet fill it through the 17mm bung on top of the thermo stat and run it for 5 minuites maybe more. if you realy want to test it i guess it wouldn't be that hard to rig up the radiator if it is out of the car
