    oil pressure gauge wiring

Hi Jeff, If you're talking about the silver coloured oil filter adaptor that i posted a pic of, that is from an early 1UZ soarer. I still have that somewhere. on my build it clashed with the steering rack, but I kept it in case it was needed for any reason... Cheers, Mat.

    1uz fan idler bracket failure

Hi all, Btw thought I'd update on this - after sitting in Coventry for customs clearance for ages, i got the bracket and fitted it a couple of days later. It has run fine since, as it's a genuine part and Kelvin tells me it's a "sealed for life" bearing, so hopefully will last.... Thanks again...

questions about fitting a centrifugal supercharger

Hi all, I am looking to supercharge a 1UZFE, my 1UZ is swapped into a Lotus with a very low bonnet line. So Rootes/twin screw type blowers that sit on top of the engine are out, so has to be a centrifugal - I am looking at fitting a Rotrex C38. I have made a plywood mockup of the bracket...

    1UZ Variable A/C Compressor Wiring

Hi, I've got an early Denso AC compressor on a 1992 1UZ with the 40/40/40 pin ECU. I have just wired 12v to the mag clutch off a relay from the AC button / climate control in the car. But I have not sent any connection from this to the ECU, the idle does drop significantly when the AC is...

    1uz fan idler bracket failure

Hi melvinmelvin, The idler bracket I ordered from Gloverman has made it as far as Coventry (waiting for customs clearance), so I should be receiving it soon. But I thought I'd try Yeomans, the dealer you mentioned to see if they were any better - They did make a decent effort at trying to help...

    1uz fan idler bracket failure

No worries Melvinmelvin - I get what you meant. but I'll remember the Yeomans dealer and try them next time I need a part. In fact I might try seeing if they can find this part without knowing the car model or part number. Bearing in mind the part I want is off a different car which I can't...

    1uz fan idler bracket failure

Thanks Melvinmelvin, I have been going to Curry Motors for the few 1UZ parts I've needed - the odd thing like a throttle body gasket and a PAS O ring etc. It is a very large Toyota dealer - the sales/showroom bit is in Twickenham (and a few other showrooms in other places) the service and parts...

    1uz fan idler bracket failure

Gloverman Please let me know when this part is in and I'll buy one - assuming you will ship to the UK? How much d you sell them for? Thanks guys - this forum has helped me out a few times now.... When I go to my local Toyota place (main dealer) they can't/won't look up anything without the...

Hi Gloverman, if there is a genuine bracket which will fit my 1uz and has a pulley (mine is 110mm) I will buy it! Have you got any for sale? Thanks, Mat.

    1uz fan idler bracket failure

Hi guys, thanks for the replies: Gloverman - yes that part looks just like the one on my car, I bought it from ebay, it was in the USA. Is that one a pattern part or original Toyota? Cribbj - the issue is my car had the hydraulic fan so the "OEM" part is the hydraulic version which wont work...

    1uz fan idler bracket failure

Hi all, I have fitted a 1uz into an old Lotus. It is from a soarer as I needed a rear sump. It came with the hydraulic fan pump, i took this bracket off and got a bracket off ebay (2uz I think - it was a couple of years ago!) which is a bracket with a pulley that just runs in a bearing. The...

    1UZ-FE vvti swap coolant issues

Hi, I had a similar problem - I put a post on here so you may be able to find it by searching - the problem with mine turned out to be a big air bubble in one of the hoses, once refilled it flows and cools perfectly. Someone suggested squeezing the hose to fel the coolant flowing, I noticed...

Grounding 1UZ ECU casing in a fibreglass car

Hi all, I've fitted a 1UZ to a Lotus, it is running, but the ECU is not bolted in yet, just sitting on the floor of the passenger footwell. I was planning on mounting it at the end of the passenger footwell, using rubber shockmount fittings, and install a cut down version of the plastic cover...

oil level sender questions (1uz from 1992 soarer)

Hi Rod, thanks for the confirmation of the polarity. Must be my sender is sticking or faulty. Wow an 037 - cool! Must be worth quite a bit. I would love one but if I owned one it would probably end up in a tree - So probably a good thing that they are out of my price range! Cheers, Mat.

oil level sender questions (1uz from 1992 soarer)

Hi Bushwhacker, Thanks for the reply. I've double checked the wiring and that is all ok. The car is running but I've not driven it anywhere. I'll see if it comes good after a bit of driving - if it is sticking it may free off with use and a few road bumps etc. I found a thread on here...

oil level sender questions (1uz from 1992 soarer)

Hi all, @Mods - If this is in the wrong section please move it and apologies. Does anyone know how the oil level sender works on the 1UZFE? My engine is a rear sump from a 1992 Soarer if it makes any difference. From googling I’ve found a few documents and images, but haven’t got a clear...

Preventing PAS leaking fluid onto alternator - options?

Hi all, I’ve read in a few places about a problem with the 1UZ where the PAS pump leaks and stuffs up the alternator. My pump shows no sign of leaking but I was thinking – has anyone made a solution to this? I was thinking of some sort of bracket to shield the alternator from hydraulic fluid...
