Im sorry if i havent explained myself properly but when i say it wont hold 1st i mean when i select L on the gear selector the auto still changes to 2nd. The selector is going back far enough to engage the auto into 1st thats what i checked first.

I did the same conversion in my hilux Ute used factory loom and factory computer it holds 1St no problem even with the computer out of the buggy . Could it be anything else faulty solenoid perhaps ? Or anything mechanical?.

I am still running factory loom the transplant came out of a 91 soarer. I will check continuity of the wiring to 1st gear.

I have a 1uzfe in a hilux it just started making a slight missing popping noise at idle and when accelerating it runs rough especially at lower revs it seems to be ok on first start up cold engine but gets worst as the engine warms up , any suggestions on possible cause thanks

Well done nice build I had to supercharge my 1uz inorder to pull the 33s on my 2003 hilux with ease . The 2uz would be a great conversion for 4wd application I like it . Any issues with wiring or was it easy enough for the average thinker I have wired up a couple of 1uz myself.

As you can see the transfer case is pointing backwards so the front shaft becomes the rear shaft to the rear diff.

The pod filter comes straight out of the afm housing . I know someone with a 1uzfe so I will try his afm in mine and that should show me if mine is faulty.thanks for the suggestions I will keep you posted.
